Better lubes?
I'm a straight guy and I've been using Astroglide for a while. Though better than general household products in many situations, I find it to be to messy and fast drying. I talked to a couple gay friends and they said they agreed, and pointed me toward ForPlay's products, specifically Gel Plus, a thicker lubricant.
I've been using it the last few weeks. The girlfriend and I agree it's WAY better for vaginal sex with a condom, anal, and as an added bonus it's great for masturbation. So I've been thinking maybe I need different lubes for different things? Are there any greasy sex experts out there who can tell the public which lubes are best for which acts? Thanks! |
Liquid Silk is a personal favorite of mine
|
My GF really likes the "KY Warming Liquid". :)
|
Best one out there is a lube called Wet Stuff! Best one I have ever used (and still use). Although made in Australia I think they sell anywhere through their (notoriously crappy) web site:

I'm an I-D Millennium man. It's silicone based, so it stays slick until you wash it off, and only takes a few drops to get the job done.
|
I think AstroGlide sucks, personally. The Hyundai of lubes. TOO damn slippery, takes away too much sensitivity/friction. Same with Wet 'Regular', which to me feels the same as AG. Im partial now to Wet Platinum. It has a very nice, different feel to it - not that generic, thin feel. I do believe it is silicon-based.

I got mine <a href="http://www.adameve.com/catalog_name=adameve/category_name=ss_lubricants/product_id=9824/product.htm">HERE</a>. |
Wow this is great! The last lube post was just an extended advertisement for Astroglide! I'm so happy I'm not the only one that finds it shitty. This will probably take a few weeks to properly research, thanks so much for your recommendations.
Anyone else used ForPlay's Gel Plus? Does it measure up to any of the above advice? |
for some reason my wife is always tight when we do it.we have used acouple different kinds of lub.right now we are using wet light..but it's to thick and drys quick.i would like something that last long and maybe feels like baby oil.any sugestions for us,we could use a new type of lub.

Damn that sucks. I'm sure glad that doesn't happen to me. :P |
it's crazy,we dont do it all the time but damn,i have to use my fingers to get her loose before we make love...
|
that's called "foreplay" buddy!! :D
it results in the best lube available :) |
I've always been partial to a product called "Wet."
Comes in a runnier (not as thick) version called "Wet light" and another version which ~is~ oil based (not compatible with condoms)...I don't remember what it's called though. Most adult stores carry it. enjoy, -bear |

Your right about adult stores. I've never seen it retail anywhere else though. Internet is obviously the ideal place. In a pinch though....what's ten bucks too much for some smooth ass slippery gliding?
Right? :) btw and sorry 'bout that....I missed your earlier recommendation (and link) about Wet products...the wet platinum is new to me...sounds delightful! |

I really like anything silicone based.. as it does't dry up actually a combination of silicone and ky for anal.. as thats what we use lube for, luckily for us everything else seems to stay more then lubricated.
|
Great thread - but some of you are paying way too much for your lubes.
The Lubery I love to save money! |
|
The perfect stocking stuffers for the holiday season as well!

KY's Warming Liquid is the best!

You're welcome! It is a fab store. |
You should go with the old reliable....the original KY jelly is great for everything. Beware of the KY Warming Liquid...it burns my wife's "insides".
|
We only use natural lube, unless it's for anal play. Cetaphil is a mild, dermatologist recommended lotion for extremely dry skin. We use that. All the other lubes are sugar and water based, and therefore get sticky and dry too fast. I don't like them.
|
ID is the best stuff out there. It NEVER gets sticky.
|
We started out with generic brand knock-off KY lube, and I really detest the smell of that stuff. It's just too medical.
We have a sample bottle of KY Warming Liquid that we used once, I don't recall it being all that special/memorable. After reading the reviews for it at Drugstore.com, I tried Pjur Eros silicone lube. That stuff is nice! (But expensive...) It stays at about the perfect slickness for a really long time and is condom safe. It doesn't taste bad if things get messy, that's a real plus :-) I've also been using it for an alternative aftershave 'down there'. It lasts a really long time and feels really good, not an icky slick. I haven't tried anything else, but I'm probably going to slick with it for quite a while... |

We've been using Body Action for awhile, I highly recommend it.
I think she's overpaying for it, but any money spent on sex is money well spent to me. |
KY is terrible stuff -- dries way, way too fast. Avoid.
