Viagra Questions
 

Hi all,

I am very much considering trying Viagra. I've searched a few other threads about this, but none gave me some very simple answers I have about it.

1. How much does it cost?
2. How quickly do you achieve erection?
3. How long does the erection last? (for 1/4, 1/2 or full pill)
4. Can you maintain an erection after ejaculating?
5. How common are the headache/congestion side affects?


I am not taking any other medication and have no other medical conditions. The reason I want to take it is that my wife doesn't take birth control (it screws her up big time) and so I where a condom. The lack of sensation, coupled with varying abilities to maintain an erection long term, means our sex is less than satisfying. Even with cunnilingus and so forth, my wife needs prolonged intercourse for orgasm, and I rarely can maintain that long.

My first and foremost concern is my wife, and I have no problem with the idea of having long sessions of intercourse without a ton of sensation on my part. If I come too soon but can keep going for her sake, that's worth it.

So fill me in. I dont' really need testimonials of specific experiences with the pill (I've read plenty of those), just the answers to the questions above.

1. Pricing is completely dependant on how you go about getting it. You should be able to pick up a free sample from your doctor. If you go the internet route, the prices vary widely-shop around, read testimonials, check them out.

2. I believe 30 minutes to and hour is normal.

3. a)this is completely different for each person. There's just no way to answer this one and have it be correct for you. and b)Never, ever, no matter what, judge ANY medication based on pill quantities. There are at least three different sizes of viagra pills, 25, 50, and 100 mg.

4. Again, this varies fairly widely. The most common answer seems to be that it lowers your refractory period.

5.Very common. Viagra works by expanding your blood vessels, which is the source of the side effects.

I guess Question #6 would be what are the differences between chemical and herbal viagra? Does herbal viagra work?

Chemical or herbal viagra?

Viagra is like Aspirin in that it's a brand name. Viagra is a brand name for the drug sildenafil. I suggest that you buy this from a drug store, since they will sell you the actual drug and not some generic "male enhancement" pill from scam artists across the internet...

I would take it except that it'd make me hard enough to cut diamonds but I don't have any diamonds. :)

I know you don't want specific experiences, but I just want to chime in in agreement here. I got some for recreation, and my erection was so hard I bruised, which made for an agonizing few days. My wife loves taking it, however.

1. The Dr can give you a sample pack. That way if you don't like it you don't have to spend any money on it.
As a perscription from the drug store - it costs about $10-$12/pill. Which can be quite steap if it's only for recreation.

2. You won't get an erection until you are aroused. You can take more than one pill and it won't GIVE you an erection. It just makes you more able to achieve when WHEN you want it. It usually takes about 20-30 min after taking the pill for it to be able to assist you in your performance.

3. The length of erection depends greatly on the person taking (as does the hardness of the erection) but the pill simply enhances your usual abilities. If you are unable to get hard for a second round it can help you stay hard longer after the first or it can give you that second round you would always like.

4. Sometimes you may be able to maintain erection post-orgasm. Not necessarily always. Again it depends on the person and what you are starting out with. If your problem is just staying hard throughout the first round then you may not be able to maintain one once you are finished. otherwise you could possibly be able to maintain one for a significant period of time later.

5. As for the Side effects - I don't know how common they are. I know a couple men who've tried the little blue pill and none of them have complained of side effects so I imagine they have only had minor side effects if any at all.

I've heard of women who have taken Viagra. Apparently, it simply arouses them more.

As far as taking it when you don't need it, here's the skinny: several people have tried mixing Viagra with Ecstasy. The erection-enhancing qualities of Viagra and the stimulation-enhancing property of Ecstasy combined into a several-day-long hard-on. The problem is that whenever blood pools like this for an extended period of time, it begins to clot. As I'm sure you can all imagine quite well, a clotted hard-on is very painful. Eventually, when the afflicted men went to the doctor, they had to have their penises lanced and drained of blood. This has the side effect of permanently damaging the penis, causing impotence. The moral of the story: Viagra can be dangerous. Only use it if you need it and don't mix it with anything, especially drugs like E or alcohol.

I'm pretty sure that Pfizer has already done a study on this, and found no significant correlation for female usage.

Find out if your health insurance covers it. 6 for $15 (50 mg) with insurance. I've taken it recreationally also, you don't need a whole pill. Get the trial pack from your doctor, buy a pill splitter from the drug store and cut it into 1/2 or even 1/4.
How quickly erection? Half hour, but longer if you've eaten.
It works pretty good, but all people are different. It might give you stuffy nose (not good for sex!) or headache. Might want to take an Advil at the same time. Also, there are testimonial websites answering many of your questions (not sponsored by Viagra), do a google search.
Think about it though, especially if your insurance won't pay. Do you want to be dependent on it?

Derwood, I found this combo quite by accident and I believe it can be an OCCASSIONAL answer to your aforementioned probs.
25 to 50 mil. of viagra combined with 2 to 3 narcotic painkillers (you know the kind they give you when they pull a tooth) I can assure you that not only will you stay erect but your stamina will be through the roof. Again DO NOT make this a regular thing as products such as vicodin and percocet are very addictive, but I can guarantee that it will leave both yourself and your wife smiling.
