Flavoured Condom Saftey Issues
I have a friend that works in a HIV-test center that claims that flavoured condoms (such as Lifestyles brand ones) should not be used for anything but oral sex. Her claim is that they are more likely to break due to the sugars of the flavour in the acidic environment of the vagina interacting. To me, this sounds like a bunch of horse shit. It seems like the condom companies would by liable to put "FOR ORAL SEX ONLY" on the packaging or something of that sort or they would get sued up the ass.
Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. |

I don't know for sure, but I think she means that she wouldn't trust them for anything but oral sex. Obviously there are laws and regulations about how safe condoms have to be for them to be on sale, so I'm sure the flavored ones are fine.
Maybe they are more likely to break. I'm sure there are lots of people here (I vaguely remember some threads) where people say Durex are more likely to beak because they've had bad experiences, or Trojans are, or Ansell are, etc. |

Flavored condoms generally (if not always) use artificial sweeteners, not sugars. In addition, I think that the flavor is in the lubricant, not in the condom itself.
I might worry about this though: Accidental Condom Inhalation |
