Why is it that...
I'm just wondering...
Why is it that guys think girls are sexy when they wear their shirts/clothing...etc., and girls will wear them, but when it comes for guys to wear girls clothes, they won't, claiming they look ugly? |

Personally, I think my girlfriend looks sexy wearing anything (or nothing ), but the idea of trying to wear her clothes just seems kinda silly to me... Im not a small guy by any measure and not only would I look ridiculous in my GF clothes, I'd probably stretch or tear them... I dont know about looking ugly in them, but I sure bet I'd look like an idiot.

I think both women and men will agree, gay or straight, a womans body is just more appealing to the eye than a mans.
Thats why a woman can refer to another woman as gorgeous and why a man would never claim another man is gorgeous. Maybe im wrong but thats just my take. |

Well....if prompted, I might be inclined to wear 'em. I mean, I wouldn't recommend the sight, but if she'd like it, I'm willing to humour her. Just not....you know, in public or anything. That's right out.

If I were to wear my gf's clothing, I'm pretty sure I would "Hulk" out of them. Also, my skin isn't a pretty color like hers, it doesn't benefit from being shown off by lace.
As far as her wearing my clothes, they look sexy on her because they are mine. If she had a closet full of men's clothing I wouldn't really care. But for her to wear my stuff, it more or less means we were doing something that then required her to change.

I've been confronted by my SO about a similiar topic. (see: Crossdressing, on this board)
Basically I've come to the conclusion that if she says it turns her on, I'll do it for her at least once. Maybe more, depending on the results.

Most of the time, not always, but most- guys will be sizeably larger then their girls. So wearing their oversized stuff kind of evokes a protective feeling of sorts. At least that's kind of how I feel. Primal's like 3X's my size so his shirts come to my knees, which is cute. However having said that, I think you can gather why him wearing ANYTHING of mine would result in total destruction. "Hulking" out would be right. I do think it would be hilarious, but not sexy.
Along the same lines, I've tried for years to get him to dress as a woman for Halloween. Of course he couldn't wear MY stuff for that! He wears a men's size 16 shoe though, and I have no idea where I could get women's shoes that large... I've really given this a lot of thought. /plotting

Well, let's see...I think really, the only thing a guy could do that could be comparably sexy as guys think girls look in guys clothing is for the guys to wear makeup.
And yet, like I say, most will not for their girlfriends...Well, most that I know (including my own boyfriend). |

same reason why some guys dress in women's clothing - it's narcisism.

Well, I don't think it can be completely written off as narcissism each and every time. As I said above, wearing women's clothes/makeup certainly isn't something I'd want to do on my own time. But if I thought it might please someone close to me, I'd definitely at least consider it. At least some of the time, I imagine, it's not so much vanity as a willingness to compromise and eagerness to please.

Interesting. I have a female friend who once had a boyfriend who, like her, was small and skinny. Weird thing was, he did wear her clothes. She hated it. She said it was one thing having to keep her roommate out of her closet, she shouldn't have to worry about her boyfriend borrowing shirts.

This is a really interesting topic.
There's something about the closeness of the relationship and mutual "ownership" (for want of a better word) in having her wear my clothes. lurkette "has" several shirts that used to be mine, and would still fit me, but they live on her side of the closet and she's the only one to wear them in several years. They've sort of become hers. When she wears them, there's sort of a charge around it for me. Some deep part of my reptile-brain gets tweaked, and thoughts like, "She must love me, she's wearing my clothes." start showing up in my head. Now, when our girlfriend D wears my clothes, that's just sexy. She wore my bathrobe one morning a few weeks ago and DAMN. It was all I could do not to drag her back to bed. Several months ago (before the sexual part of our relationship had really started, but after we started sleeping in the same bed) she wore a t-shirt and a pair of my boxers to bed. I got very little sleep that night. Those boxers are still sort of special to me. Every time I see them or (shudder) wear them I think about her. So the thing to notice is, with lurkette it's about love when she wears my clothes, and with D it's about sex. Which is sort of appropriate, given how those two relationships are right now. Having one of them wear my clothes is a casual expression of closeness and intimacy. It's an expression of the relationship itself. Why don't I wear either of their clothes? I wouldn't fit. And I don't look very good in skirts or tank tops. I'd be interested to hear lurkette's take on having D wear her clothes. They share clothes all the time--the other day, the only thing D was wearing that didn't belong to lurkette was her bra. (They're basically at opposite ends of the Bra Size Spectrum.) I'd like to know how that was for lurkette. I'll PM her and ask her to weigh in. |
