Physicist Turned Porn Star

Interesting, well written article on a Nasa physicist who became a porn star in this week's Houston Press:

Jesus Pimp 03-04-2004 08:29 PM

That's awesome. One of my dreams is to become a porn star.

Tholo 03-04-2004 08:57 PM

Haha, fantastic. Now I know that there are still hopes and dreams after getting my PhD in chemistry.

fillips 03-04-2004 09:02 PM

lol cool

motdakasha 03-04-2004 09:08 PM

there are a lot of pornstars out there who don't fit the stereotype of "dumb pornstar"

Damnit. He took my idea. :(

KungFuGuy 03-04-2004 09:50 PM

lol- just imagine a physics porno. or porno physics.

imagine bringing an instructional video to class?

"now...you'll notice that my ejaculate is exiting my penis at an angle of about 38 degrees with a velocity of...."

"now here's a little quiz question- If i'm humping forward with a velocity of 1 m/s at the time of release how much further will my ejaculate go than if i was humping backwards at the same speed?"

Amano 03-04-2004 09:51 PM

Interesting article but I absolutely HATED how they tried to make it seem mildly scientific. ugh!

Things like "assymmetrical digits" or "he could plot the trajectory from point A to point B"

Smimpinj 03-04-2004 10:09 PM

Asia Carrera is actually a member of mensa so i guess a physicist is welcome too. :)

I was just going to say that.. Also a computer geek as well.

Actually, sex is a good example of Simple Harmonic Motion and conservation of energy.

When you're having sex at a regular rhythm, it could be likened to the representation of a sine wave where the frequency would represent how far one thrusts, and the amplitude would represent the strength with which the man penetrates the woman. And slowing down or speeding up could be translated as lengthening and shortening the wavelength (phase shift).

Now when a man and a woman have sex, it sometimes happens that both partners experience simultaneous orgasm. And for some reason I don't understand, the woman usually feels invigorated after the orgasm while the man becomes drained.
In that sense, you could say that energy has been transferred from the man to the woman, but since they both climaxed together the total energy in the system remains the same.----This, ladies and gentlemen, is a perfect example of conservation of energy.

On the other hand, if the man experiences premature ejaculation while the woman is left high and dry, there is net loss of total energy in the system, and this exemplifies non-conservative work.

As you can see, there is a lot of physics involved in sex.

Assuming that we are measuring distance from the initial launch height, velocity is 1 m/s, and the angle is 38*, then he would ejaculate a distance of .099 meters during initial ejaculation (using the equation X-Xo=(Vo^2)/g*sin(2(theta)). If you assume the same initial velocity in the reverse hump position, and that the angle did not change, then the distance of the ejaculate would be .099-(distance of reverse hump). If you want to assume that the intial velocity of his hump changed, then we would need more determining factors, such as the mass of the semen, and the distance the penis travelled backwards during the reverse thrust. Then you could solve it using force equations instead of projectile motion.

This is what I get for being a fucking Engineering major.

Mensa is an organization that accepts people whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population.

That's weird.

hehe that's an awesome article....
i wanna be a porn star....

You forgot to factor in kinetic friction, and you didn't specify if the angle of launch was 38 degrees in positive or negative elevation, my friend....
