Girl trouble...

Hi, I'm new here ~

Anyways I'll tell you the story.
There's this girl that really liked me (almost obessive), she gave me a little somethin on Christmas and was really shy about it. Finally I found out she was a few years younger than me (im 18), but she was REALLY hot for her age. But at this point I'm thinking, 'no man she's younger than you, what will OTHER people think'. It was dumb, I should have been thinking 'what do I think'. Anyways it's been a month and I haven't talked to her much, I'm not sure if she likes me anymore but I really want to have a relationship with her. I'm 18 but I've never had a real relationship yet (i know, sad).

Well TFPers, I was just wondering what advice you could give me on attracting her again or something. I'm not the type to just go up to her and ask her 'Do you like me?'.. I'm kind of shy with that stuff. What should I do

Thank you all...

Well, first of all, exactly how much younger is she than you? That really could matter.

that definately matters.

16 -- maybe
15 -- bad idea
14 -- she's absolutely too young. "Other people" will think you're taking advantage of somebody who's still kinda naive, and "other people" just might be right.

18 is a tough age. When I was 18 my wife was 15. When we met she was 21 and I was 24. Things change in a few short years.

I must say this - if she is too young, remember to treat her well as she may someday be your hearts desire. Matter of fact, treat her mom well, her dad with respect and be especially nice to her cat.

For the age difference, here's my solution. Do the math backwards. If you're 18, and she's 15, that's a 3 year difference. That means that if she was dating someone 3 years younger than her, they'd be 12, and that's just creepy. Ergo, stay away.

Maybe I'm just loony. But it seems like a pretty good litmus test to me.

There is a point at which young is too young. I f you really like her a few years difference isn't that bad. Then again when I was 20 I dated a 16 year old that happened to be more mature than any of the older men I had dated and the best relationship I had ever been in. Age in that case is relative, but I also still get made fun of for being a pediphile and that title my friends...never goes away.

She's just about 16 and mature

So that means she's 15 and hot? Being as I dated (for 3 and a half years) a girl 3 years younger than me when I was 18, i'd be hard pressed to say much to your not approaching the situation. The only thing keeping the relationship totally honest was we lived 1200 miles apart and I didn't get to meet her until she was 16- about 8 months after we started being together.

Fuck what other people will say- if I'd listened to myself when I originally asked that question, i'd have missed out on 3 and a half of my happiest years on this planet. I still love her, though we're no longer together, and wouldn't have traded what we had for anything.

Best of luck to you.

just contact her and be honest with her. Tell her that you are attracted to her, but that you are worried about the age difference and that you are sorry that you haven't spoken to her in a while. Ask her if she would like to get together with you and just take it easy. Do non-threatening things together (movies, putt-putt) and see if you like each other.

You said she likes you, do you like her? If you don't like her that way then it's no problem, just be sure she knows. If you do like her it's up to you. If it were up to me I wouldn't go for a 15 year old girl. My little sister is 17 and I wouldn't date someone with her maturity level. I know everyone's different though. Fifteen is just too young IMO. There are plenty of hot chicks closer to your age if that's what you like.

If you two end up together, make sure you don't touch her until she is 16, or whatever the age of consent is where you live.
