Movies to rent for Valentines day

I plan on renting a movie for valentines day after going out to dinner at a nice quiet place with my awesome girlfriend.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else doing the same thing?

I am thinking of some sort of romantic comedy maybe, but not a total chick flick.

haha, and please, don't suggest a porno, that would not go over well with her.

I guess I am looking for some sort of feel-good movie about being in a fun yet somewhat serious relationship .

Sliding Doors, In some ways it is very sad, but it's ultimately hopeful

Or Pleasantville, which has some romantic interest and is a huge feel good movie.

the Princess Bride--it's got the romance and comedy, plus swordfighting & revenge. Even if you've seen it before, it's always fun to watch again...

Princess Bride is the shit.

"The Secretary" is good too but its not for everyone, it's like a sadomasochist love story but it's done really well.

"A Beutiful Mind" isnt really comedy but definately a good date movie.

i'm not too big into romantic comedies so I can't really help alot here.

Amelie, in my humble opinion, is one of the all-time best warm fuzzy movies.

I second the nomination of Amelie.

I'd also suggest Before Sunrise, which is an excellent romantic movie, but not chick-flicky.

I'd rent Casablanca, if you haven't seen it already.

Obviously, its not a comedy, but you would like it. It's a love story of sorts, but it isn't one of those real mushy love stories.

Anything with Jennifer Aniston, also You've Got Mail, Gladiator if she doesn't mind the fighting, Office Space has some romance, but sure to make you laugh (& it has Jennifer Aniston), The Princess Bride, if you can handle it- Romeo & Juliet, Bruce Almighty

Lots of great suggestions precede me! What about Groundhog Day! Gluttony, suicide, a love stor, a rodent... It has it all. You can NEVER go wrong with Bill Murray.

I'm not so sure about that. There's nothing romantic about Caddyshack.

YES! i love princess bride, i think all of you who mentioned it are totally cool also, 'chocolat' was a REALLY good movie (w/ hotties johnny depp & juliette binoche). bond movies are awesome--the action, humor, & romance of course. if you're getting a movie for your girl, make sure it sure it isnt too gory or guy-oriented. i personally love "guy movies" but to show you're into whatever she likes today, make it somewhat girly. thats just my opinion though! could be wrong ...

I just watched Sweet Home Alabama with a date and it put us in a romantic mood without being overboard. Bruce Almighty had substance, humor, and love undertones. Just a couple suggestions for you.

Several romantic cartoons are available for you to rent if it sets the mood off for both of you. Lady And The Tramp is my all time favorite classic love story.
