Depends totally on the guy. However, to be sexy it must be clean and well kept! Soft helps too.

Action with no beard: 0
Action with beard: 3 I've been told in my case it helps me look less like a 12 year old. I guess girls don't dig the idea of "action" with their younger brother. In all seriousness, I never really got any compliments before my beard, but I get a lot of comments now (most of them good).

i grow hair EXTREMELY fast
i can shave in the morning, by 10 am, my gf won't rub my face unless i shave again. My 5 o'clock shadow shows up at 3..it runs in the family, my dad had to shave twice daily in the army... Anyway, i've found that if i grow a beard, i dont' look like a 12 yr old, so some girls like that..but if i am clean shaven, then others like that. I think my action w/hair vs action w/out hair is about 1:1 or so, I do, however, notice that i got laid more when i was clean shaven, but with looooooooooooooooooong hair (like down to my waist, kept in ponytail long) It's kinda funny bc everyone says i look better now, but not too many people knew me then that are still around, so it's just all confusing. I liked both, but long hair was easier bc i would just pull it back after a shower. Anyway, my facial hair changes about every few weeks. right now, it's a goatee/mustache combo without the connectors, ala pirates of the caribbean's johnny depp. When i had a beard, i used to get everyone saying i looked like russel crowe in gladiator...clean shaven, i look like a prepubescent teen..

I don't know. Normally I'd say cleanshaven, but I know a couple of guys who look damn fine with some facial hair. The last guy I dated that just a little strip of hair on his chin...and Mama liked, Mama liked. So it depends on the person and their grooming habits.

I'm definently a fan of facial hair. It can get annoying in a kissing situation though. But overall, I really like the way it looks. MY favorite look is the 'scruffy' I haven't shaved in two or three days look.

Works for some people, and for others it is a curse. It really depends on facial qualities as to whether it works or not. Some people just flat don't look good with a moustache or beard. Others look so good with them, you would think them unatractive without. only way to be sure is to grow what you can and ask for opinions.

In my experience, most women seemed to be happiest when I had a goatee or a thin, short beard.
Most women didn't like my full beard (5-6" long). I haven't gotten a chance to really test out the new "huge-ass sideburns and 7" goatee" yet, but I"ve gotten more compliments in general with this set-up than anything else.
