not as bad as you would think, just take it easy, get it done on a friday or right before you have a few days off. chill out with an ice-pack an try not to excite yourself. mine was painless. then reep the reward after your follow up appointment when they tell you that it was a total sucess. worry free sex, as long as you are in a monogamous relationship.

I knew I had seen thread about this before. I just searched for "Vasectomy" with the search function on these here boards. Here are some useful ones to read.
Also this first one is by Clavus. A man known to be imfortative, yet very comical in it. Make sure to read his, you'll love it. I glanced through each of these tho, and each has some knowledge about it. Read up and be happy! http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...ight=vasectomy http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...ight=Vasectomy http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...ight=Vasectomy http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...ight=Vasectomy

Wear a jock strap for a couple weeks. Don't let 'em swing and dangle until they are nice and healed up. If you have little tykes that jump in your lap a lot then put the "cup" in and you will be 100% protected. Don't try to re-roof the house for a few days after. Take a couple days off and rent a lot of movies. No need to be afraid. I didn't have any real "pain" .

I thought about making the cut but I still worry about future side effects. I've read there's no proven link to prostate or testicular cancers but hey, I'm dealing with my junk here. Brave of you, those that have done it.

I’m thinking of getting this done, I’m not planning on having kids for a good long while (I’m 19 maybe when I’m 27 to 32)
Should I freeze them now? Or have the surgery reversed when I’m ready?

Dilbert1234567 , you won't find a uroligist that will do this. A guy at work tried this with several dr's, and none would do it, all stating the same reason. Just pony up and buy the condoms, you'll be fine. Reversals do not work that well at all.

Reversals....yes...well, reversals are micro-surgery. Having has the complete lack of foresight in a previous life I got snipped...then got divorced...life deals out some pretty ironic situations from time to time...
So, then I met someone new and wished like hell I wasn't snipped...so I had a reversal. I can tell you first hand that walking around for six weeks with your balls in a sling is no joke...I was black and blue from knees to my navel. It was all going swimmingly until our dog jumped up and hit me in the ...err...sling...needless to say I hit the ground like a ton of bricks and lay there trying to catch my breath... Result...the first reversal failed. Notice I said 'first'...yes...after all the pain and swelling I waited six months and went back in for another attempt at the reversal... Second time, same brusing, same pain, heavier duty sling...and after what seemed like FOREVER the sling came off, the tests were done and now we have kids... Life is good, odd but good... My advice...don't snip...wear condoms, pull out early, wank, blow what ever oils yer tool, work it out with your partner there are plenty of creative ways to ahve sex without getting pregnant but save the snip until you're so old that kids are a bad idea. Sure, you can get a reversal...if you're into PAIN and more PAIN...followed by yet MORE PAIN... br00n |

I had mine done about four or five years ago. Very glad I had it done. Not much pain and I feel much more relaxed during sex. The freakist part of the entire experience was during the procedure, though. You're given a local anesthetic (like novacane) and, while it kills the pain of the part they are working on, you can feel the effects in other parts of you body. They have to tug on the van defferance (sp?) a bit to get it out so they can work on it, and you can't feel it were they are tugging, but you can feel it being tugged up inside you. That freaked me out. I'm normally a very quit guy, but I think I said quite loudly, "Little more anesthetic, Doc! I felt that". It's funny now. Plus, it gives me a story to tell at the bars.

I had mine done last thursday. It went well. The local felt like someone was pushing my balls in. But, after that I felt nothing. The entire procedure took 25 minutes. My doctor said it went as well as it could have (I bet he says that to all the boys).
That night and the next day, the pain I felt was in my lower abdomen. Not sharp, but just noticable dull pain. On Saturday, my balls started to turn blue and huge. They only hurt if I was not wearing briefs and if they hit. Today, monday, any pain in my abdomen is almost gone and my balls are coming down in size. They are tender, not a sharp pain, if my legs brush the wrong way. Overall, not as bad as I expected. The worst was the fears I generated prior to the procedure.

I cant see my balls, they have gotten very afraid LOL!!
I plan on doing this, but isnt the worst part is when they pull the Vas. (tube?) to cut it? Doesnt it feel like someone kicked in the balls---Thats what I have heard?? Everyone on here seems like its no problem at all..... |

The shaving took place b/4 the local. Not to comfortable. When they give you the local it feel like someone has kicked you in the balls, very lightly. I wiggled my toes a lot. Most of all I had a lot of anxiety. A local in my jaw by a dentist was worse. My doctor, during the procedure, kept asking me if I felt anything. Luckily I didn't. Even though I didn't, I was still very anxious. I did not feel any tugging or pulling. I guess he did it right. He also told me that it went as well as expected. Sometime, I guess, it can be difficult to locate the vas and get it out. They only make a tiny, tiny cut. By the time it is all healed up it won't be any noticealbe. About 1/2 way through the procedure I started to relax and realized that I am laying down during the day, what a nice treat (have to surgar coat it somehow). My advice, find a doctor that you feel comfortable with. I looked around for nearly 2 years. And, lay low for a couple of days with a bag of frozen peas on your area. It will keep the swelling down. I told my son that I hurt my leg at work. He said that frozen peas will make it feel better. Any hoo, don't worry, the bark is worse than the bite with this procedure.

This is the perfect time of the year for a vasectomy! Really, I'm not kidding. My urologist, who is also a good friend, recomended that I wait until the fall and have the procedure on a Friday. His "prescription" to me, actually written up to my wife, was that I HAD to sit in a recliner all weekend (and watch football) with a "cold compress" between my legs to relieve the swelling. The actual "compress" perscribed was ice cold Corona cerveza. Made the recovery very enjoyable!
