Drawing on flesh

I want to draw on my partner's skin. I want to free hand draw a "tattoo" on her body.

I'm sure how much surface area I will end up covering but let's just assume quite a bit.

Here is my question. Has anyone done this and if so what markers would they recommend.

I don't want the ink to smudge or wash off. Rather it should fade over time.

I've tried a few markers on myself but find they smudge too much.

Any suggestions?

We had a good thread in Tilted Exhibition about this, but unfortunately I can't find it without the search.

I suggest that you ask ratbastid and lurkette, whenever they return from ratbastid enthusiastically welcoming her home - they tried out the markers idea a while ago. Also, Spinach was the originator for the idea - it was a thread started by Spinach in Exhibition that clued the r&l duet onto the idea.

I haven't done anything myself, but they should be able to provide you with a lot of answers.

If you want to have it fade over time like a temporary tatoo, you can use a henna pen. Its a natural substance that stains the skin brown, then it will disapear/fade over time (few weeks i believe)...Ive seen henna pens for sale at stores around the mall.

We're back! :D

Actually little_limey was the originator of that thread.

lurkette and I were after just the opposite--TEMPORARY markers that would wash off completely. What we ended up using were Crayola Washable Markers (at redlemon's suggestion). It was WAY FUN, and they came off completely, with a little scrubbing, in the shower.

They came off all over the bedspread, too. It's washable, so it's not a big deal, but I recommend doing it on laundry day.

The other thing that was fun--at one point I drew a sort of pac-man biting her right nipple, with the word "chomp" in a speech-balloon over its head. At some point we noticed that I had a speech balloon with the word "pmohc" on the left side of my chest.... As redlemon said, we had fun figuring out where THIS patch of purple came from and how THOSE lines got THERE....

I'm with visotech--henna is the traditional way to do temporary tattoos. Ought to work great.

Have fun!

Henna pens...yup, henna pens. Like everyone else is saying.
Or skinny permanant ink pens.

Charlatan 12-07-2003 03:06 PM

Thanks guys...

I was looking into the Washable Markers but I don't want it to rub off on me or the sheets... I found the Little Limey thread and am now looking to see if I can find Tattoo Gel Pens and Henna Pens...

I also looked into Henna in general but found it a bit too complicated... If the pens go well I could see Henna being Body Art the advanced class.

By the way... I will see if I can snap some picture of the art.

I'd argue that having it rub off is a lot of fun as well, as long as you aren't against having to do the sheets - but it's up to you. Glad to see you managed to find the original thread

And pictures are always fun to look at. :D

Charlatan 12-07-2003 05:43 PM

Yes I agree that rubbing off can be fun... it just I can think of better things to rub off my lover's body onto mine than ink... ;)

Cheers

Permenant markers last a fair while, but can be removed if needs be. I drew hand prints all over this one girl, looked good and lasted for days. However some girl wrote 'cherrys bitch' across my chest and that I had to get rid of, I'm nobodies bitch! One long painful scrub later it was gone!

hu-man 12-08-2003 12:59 AM

I'd go with henna. I once made a temporary tatoo on my ex-girlfriend, around her belly-button. It looked great, lasted for about a week. The colour is sorta readdish brown, but I guess it blends in with the skin complexion.

Redlemon 12-08-2003 10:32 AM

We put an old sheet on the floor before using the washable markers; I probably should have mentioned that before...

Meh. It was well worth the trouble.

herostar 12-08-2003 02:29 PM

I've used henna... try it, it's fun.

one time i drew all over my wife with highlighters, under the black light it looks really cool. and another time while i was waiting for her to come home, i wrote a poem and drew some pictures for her on my body.

I was just about to post those stories! Although they did smudge, the experience was indescribable.

Ooh! I'll bet! You'd need some sort of badass tribal techno music thumping away while you did that...

Hey, I didn't think of pre-writing as a surprise. Nice thinking, moonstrucksoul.

Try some glow in the dark finger paint, or flourescent paint with a black light. Talk about foreplay ;)

sub zero 12-11-2003 12:36 PM

Me and an ex of mine used to draw and write poems to each other on each other's bodies as a form of foreplay. We used to the color pencils that smudge a little to make sure we could see if, plus it would make it a little easier for washing off afterwards.

this is actually what I was going to suggest. my mom does henna tattoos every once and a while. they're very nice actually.

Sharpies are permanent and won't rub off onto your sheets, but will last for a long time. Might be hard to explain if perspiration causes some ink transfer to visible body surfaces ...

I'd just go with the Crayola washable markers and just have fun. Wash the sheets afterwards ... usually do that anyway.

This sounds way interesting... Is it really sexually exciting, and if so how do you bring it up with your partner?

I plan on surprising my girlfriend - just making a quick trip into the bathroom, taking various articles of clothing off and writing messages to her, dressing again, and (hoping they don't smudge too much) waiting on her to uncover them. :D

macro 12-18-2003 05:21 AM

Henna works well, but if you use it and swim in chlorinated pools, it will be gone before you know it.
