GF on the pill and coming inside her

How risky is this in regards to getting her pregnet?

She is on the pill, if i come inside her without a condom, do the chances of her getting pregent increase? , rather than me pulling out?
Thanks

dalnet22 11-30-2003 12:05 PM

Well yes they increase.

Hard8s 11-30-2003 12:33 PM

Lets put it this way, Nothing is 100%!!!
Anytime any of your man juices get inside her vagina then you have a chance of her getting pregnant! Even that pre-come contains sperm, you do not even need to come inside of her for her to get pregnant. This is why the pull out method does not work! Just ask my brother!!! Fortunately they are married, they just were'nt ready at the time.

Whats wrong with a condom? She is willing to change her body chemistry, the least you can do is use one.
There is always a chance, but if both of you take precautions its always better.

Some girls don't like the feel of a condom.. that's why I don't wear one with my fiancee.

Just make sure she's got the right pill for her, there's a few different one for different people. If she's using antibiotics or other meds, make sure she asks when they are prescribed to her if they could affect the pill. If you're not sure.. wear a condom. AND the most important thing of all.. make sure she takes it on time. We've had a few scares where she has forgotten to take it, but it has been all good.

I know that when we did experiments and with the experiment at school IF it WAS a 100% effective all the time, no matter what we always had to add in that 2% error for human error. Perhaps that is why the pill is not 100% effective.. just a theory :hmm:

Either way.. Get yourself some 'doms anyways

cheerios 11-30-2003 02:56 PM

pill, if used correctly, is 99.9% effective. if you don't have sex with her, that is 100.0% effective. your adding a condom to the mix will not increase it to 100%, but likely will nudge the odds a bit more in your favor.
Please note the phrase "if used correctly". that means taking it at the same time every day, not skipping days, checking for interactions with other drugs. Antibiotics GREATLY decrease the effectiveness of most birthcontrol pills so if she's sick, or taking meds, use a condom or abstain. So, yes, cumming inside her increases yoru chances, but, really, sticking your wang in there at ALL gives those same chances.

mikepeca18 11-30-2003 03:33 PM

ummm, hello, if your g-friend/wife takes the pill everyday, you can cum in her everyday and she will not get pregneant. You only have to worry about it if you think she isnt responsible to remember to take it daily.

lady 11-30-2003 03:39 PM

Other things that will reduce the pill's effectiveness are: diarrhea, vomiting, other types of medications, being over a certain weight, etc.

Mikepeca18 - not true, read the thread...

moonstrucksoul 11-30-2003 05:20 PM

get a vasectomy, there is your 100% (after the doc says so).
be in charge of your own future.
it is a major release of fear and worry for people who don't want any or more kids. but naturally it is a very heavy decision to make.

That is the most ignorant thing I have heard in so long! Nothing is 100% possitive, except abstinance. I know more than 1 person who ahs gotten pregnant while taking the pill. My sister is one of them. There is no 100% percent, besides abstainig from all sexual contact. My girlfriend is on the pill, I still use condoms. If you don't abstane, there is at least a chance of pregnancy.

Sapper 11-30-2003 05:55 PM

As everybody has said - nothing short of having your testicles removed, or your girlfriend having her ovaries removed is 100% (not even vasectomy or tubal ligation operations!).

Condoms in general are only 80% effective - this covers accidental breakages. BCPs are 98% effective - or so.

Go ahead and blow your load inside of her - just have a backup plan. Furthremore, because of STDs .. consider the trust/risk ratio ;)

VitaminH 11-30-2003 06:09 PM

The pill is pretty effective, roughly 99%, but unless you're engaged or married I still reccomend to people to use condoms. You can never be 100% sure someone is disease free, even if they're a virgin (and how often does that happen anymore..). Plus, the condom is just added protection for that 1% of the time ;)

emphant 11-30-2003 08:57 PM

If you want to blow it in her, fine, but you better make DAMN sure you can trust her to take it everyday at the same time. EVERY DAY IT IS NOT OKAY TO FORGET!

That said, if she is taking other meds cause she is sick, use a condom then.

Or, consider not using a condom for sex, but then pulling out and finishing some other way. Kind of gives you the best of both worlds.

skier 11-30-2003 11:03 PM

The pill itself is 99%effective, but decreases to 97% (this is an average of many people that either became or did not become preggo) when you include outside factors like other drugs etc.
so chances are about 50/50 that you will have a child if you have sex 50 times. It's a crummy lottery, and you choose how many tickets you want to buy.

That is simply not true. The 97% doesnt mean its 97% each time you have sex, so if you do it 50 times, youll get pregnant. The percentage is the chance you have, if used correctly, over a year.

hu-man 12-01-2003 12:53 AM

My girlfriend is on the pill, and I cum inside her every single day. We're not using any condoms, at all.
We've been fucking for 2,5 years, and she's not gotten pregnant. It is a method of birth control. If you take it correctly, the chances of you becoming pregnant are next to none. If you tend to forget things like taking a pill every night, find another method of birth control!
There is absolutely no need for both using the pill and condoms, if you _remember to take the pill_ ;)

phyzix525 12-01-2003 08:07 AM

make sure she never "forgets" to take her pills. a couple slip-ups and you could have problems.

mikepeca18 12-01-2003 11:03 AM

You people are clueless, unless the woman is on another drug that says it will react with birth control no condom is needed.

Wearing a condom while your wife or fiance is on the pill is like wearing a football helmet in the car.

The one and only reason to wear a condom while the woman is on the pill is if you dont trust her.

Find me one good source of info that says that. If you find just one good one, i'll eat my words. And just to be civil, heres an article from Planned Parenthood

We have had good success for 3 1/3 year with me on the pill only. One added benefit - I've nursed the entire time and that is considered a mild help.

It sure can't hurt to use a condom - If You absolutely don't want a kid I'd say get a vasectomy or wear a condom.

Also as mentioned above - antibiotics lower the effectiveness of the pill as does St. John's Wort - herb. Be careful and consider your options.

pocon1 12-01-2003 04:14 PM

My wife has been on the pill for nine years. no problems. when she takes antibiotics, we use rubbers. She is also very good about taking the pill consistently. She definitely develops habits and sticks to them. I think the pill is very safe, if used consistently. People who have had problems probably were not consistent, or had interference from medication. That is human error.

taliendo 12-01-2003 04:27 PM

My ex and I had sex for almost a year while she was on the pill and didn't get pregnant. The only time I wore a condom was when she slipped and missed a day (sometimes a couple of days) -- then it was back to the rubbers for a month. I think its pretty safe (just my opinion) as long as you're both sure that you are disease free. Happy humping. . .

Mantus 12-01-2003 07:37 PM

I believe the percentages are taken from surveys, not actual research in effectiveness.

Meaning that according to their poll results, 1 out of 100 women become pregnant when using the pill.

For condoms it’s 1 in 8 odds.

I had a GF who could not be on the pill because of side effects. We had sex rather regularly using condoms. After 3 years I should have had at least 20 children according to the odds. I didn’t because I played it smart and didn’t take any risks. If your girlfriend does the same with the pill things should be fine.

Thought id put in my 2c worth here.....
The pill is not 100% safe.. no matter how you look at it.. its not.. nothing is.. ive been on the pill for nearly 7 years now.. and have been pregnant once .. even though i was on the pill.. nothing is certain and noone can be sure wether or not it will protect you against getting pregnant.

Dilbert1234567 12-01-2003 11:05 PM

Basically, nothing is perfect; the only true form of birth control is abstinence (well that’s not true either but that will take a long time to explain). But the pill is pretty good (99.9% I believe) so on that 1/1000 if you come inside, then she can get pregnant if the pill fails, if you don’t come in side her then there is less of a chance of getting pregnant.

Basically the pill should do, but if you want to be safer, don’t come inside.

Kids man....Think ABout the KIDS!!!! of course he could have a reversal right?

SO yea, birth control....CAN and CANT work. Thats why I'm here:p My parents tried to have a kid forever!! they failed and my mom went on the pill and here I am today..... go pill:hmm:

em1014 12-02-2003 02:53 AM

I trust the pill I am on now. The first one I tried was not for me (lots of side effects).

As with pretty much every birth control there is a slight risk of getting pregnant. You have to decide how much of a risk you are willing to take. Personally I don't use condoms with my b/f. I don't like them and they don't help my odds in not getting pregnant by enough to be substantial.

As long as your g/f can be responsible in taking the pill I think you two should be just fine without a condom. No it's not 100% effective but then again neither is using every method of birth control at once.

Also, I don't think anti-depressants have been listed in the drugs that may interact with with b/c pills. Not all anti- depressants interact with all pills but it is something that should be looked up if it applies to anyone.

If your g/f doesn't think she can take her pill every day (it sounds easier than it actually is) the patch is a new option.

I have to agree with Dilbert1234567 in that abstinence is not even 100% effective. Out of the things I have experienced, read, or heard about.... the only "b/c" that seems 100% effective these days is being gay ;).

Again, sorry for the long wordy posts tonight (or I guess this morning). I'm going on night 3 with no sleep...sleep deprivation is the devil!
