Meeting women outside of college more difficult?
After college I have found that meeting girls is a lot more difficult. Any advice on where to meet girls that's not the bar or online?
|
Yeah I think it's more difficult. It all depends on what you are looking for also. I've never had long term things with bar girls, but chicks from bookstores and who have "real" jobs like waitressess and coffee shop girls seem to be the coolest and easy to meet if you frequent those type places. Another great place to meet women is at small parties at someone's house. Not like blaring frat parties.

I used to meet all kinds of girls at volleyball. A group of friends and I played indoor in the winter and sand the summer, and I'd meet some really cool women there. I was in a relationship, so I never pursued it, but a friend ended up getting married to a women he met there.
You just have to pick some kind of mutual interest and follow through, and not be shy about talking with strangers. |
well gyms are like bars.. someplace we go to be seen... but it depends on what your into. If your religious got to church associated functions, if your political also you can try party functions or at work, your going to find different types of singles at every place and your fall back is the grocery store... heheheheheh

gyms in my opinion, go somewhere you like, maybe you'll find a girl with the same hobbies as you or something.

Do the things you enjoy, along the way you meet people of a similar mind. I've met a few girls at Triathlons and in Tri triaining clubs.
Also, I have always worked for small firms, under 20 people. Even the business I own and run today only has about 45 people. Working for a much larger firm, in the 100's, is kind of like an extention of college I think. I've wondered if I would still be single today if I had chosen to work at a much larger firm. Just more opportunities. |

I got lucky and met my wife on a blind date!

1. Hang out in places you like, so you're around people of mutual interest.
2. Talk with some women, get yourself known. 3. ? 4. Profit. |
Bars suck for meeting women that you want a relationship with. Colleges are great because you are with people who all want a higher education (i.e. somewhat like-minded) and there are plenty of girls. Girls are in the same boat as you are after college. It isn't easy for them. Suggestions include taking a class in something that you like to do (just for fun), go to events that don't center around drinking but that interest you (i.e. if you like bike riding, join a bike riding club). You are most likely to meet someone that you are going to connect with doing things that you like to do. It gives you that immediate credibility with them, and you aren't obviously looking for booty like you would in a bar.

I heard you can find some real nice girls at church....to paraphrase Eddie Murphy from "Coming to America."
seems like a good place if you're into that kind of thing... if not find a hobby which includes others..almost a sure way to meet chicks. block |
Meeting women in college is easy!? Did I miss that memo or something?
|
I'd say gyms. Of course, I goto the gym here at college so it's even better :p

I've made a lot of friends at my new job, they have a lot of friends (and so on). This has been a nice way to meet girls. It beats going to bars because we have some kind of common bond, and you have a friend who might be willing to go to bat and put in a good word for you.

I was informed that bars are good places to meet women as well. I have yet to go to one, but if I ever do, I will report back with my findings! :-D

fucking engineering classes. There are 3 hot girls in my whole mech engy engineering grade level. One has a boyfriend and i'm working on the other. However i don't like engineers, because i can't wow them with my amazing smartnessess.
I think i should join the golf team hear or something and then hit on the golf chicks. |
I dont think I would ever wanna date a geeky girl that was like a female version of me. I like going for someone that is a total opposite.
I don't really think its the wowing with smartness thing. I just think its nice to get away from all this computer stuff when I go out with a lady friend. If i dated someone like me, we'd sit around programming and play quake. That's something I'd wanna do with a guy friend. Not a girl friend :) |
