As they said in Matrix 3, it's amazing how similar love and insanity are.

Only people who have never experienced love will tell you that it's crazy. It makes you want things that other people don't understand, but that's because that one person is more important than anything else in the world to you. More important than money or jobs or houses or whatever else.

If you think otherwise, then you're not in love.

Why not have both?

Well there's initial love and love that strengthens over time. I would say they are both the same in the way they feel to you, but the depth of the second is greater than the first. I, at one time, had thought I was in love with 2 different girls prior to meeting my wife, but I now know I have only been in love with her. If we are talking about that kind of love, then yes, it is a no-brainer.

Love is everything.

Nothing material could ever compare.

I would do anything for that person.

The hard part is making them realize it,
and it's cool to feel that way.
(it's scary to some...they are not ready for it or the feeling is overwhelming)
Be careful with expressing yourself because of this...
one step at a time....I know it's difficult, because you want it to happen immediately.

When you find love, you'll know it, since you'll be acting like a puppy, or different than you normally would. Being in love makes you do all kinds of things that are not like you. If that person you're in love with leaves you, you'll feel all kinds of pain for a while. So I hope I answered your question.

For me, I'd rather have the dream job and all the money in the world so that I could give the one I love anything and everything he could ever possibly want or need to make him exquisitely happy until the day he dies.. ^_^

showering someone in gifts isn't a guaranteed way of making someone happy or in love...

This reminded me of the game MASH (Mansion Apartment Shack House).

I did some pretty dumb things in my younger years. Drugs, not caring in school, lying, cheating, dealing, stealing, blah blah blah. And I regret all of those things (or at least some aspects). And some of those things have totally messed with my head (I mean looney messed with my head at some times).
But if I had a chance to go back and change all that, I wouldn't. I wouldn't change a thing. Only cause I chose the "path" that led me to meet Mrs. Kata.
So yes, I guess I kind of feel like you. I would give up whatever to be with who I am with right now.

I knew I was in love in High School on Dec. 2. I was in wrestling, and I wrestled the #2 ranked wrestler in my weightclass in the state (needless to say he whooped my ass).
Anyways during the match I managed to dislocate my arm, they stopped the match of course and the docs ran over to help me. I was in extream pain until my girl ran up to the mat and held my hand. Suddenly the pain wasn't there and all I could think about was her.

This may not have anything to do with the love vs. material things, but if you have it you know, and nothing else ever compares.

Even though I generally dislike the Beatles, they have a few songs I really like. An excerpt that puts it quite succinctly:

"...all you need is love, love... love is all you need."

love is

it's hard to explain and it is different for everyone
you catch glimpses of it when you read a certain something
or maybe when you see something that reminds you of who you love

for me, love means I would and will do anything and everything I can for him, and I also have one of his pillows so that when I am lonely and I miss him I can just breath in his scent and it helps

its things like that and so much more
