Ogling Vs Appreciating
 

Now, i admit that i really like looking at beautiful girls, like most other guys, but i was wondering the difference of classification of what may be more inappropriate ogling and then also, perhaps more appropriate, appreciating beauty and form.

What are the main differences?

Ogling seems to reduce girls to a peice of meat, i don't really think i do that too much, and most of the time like to think in my mind how amazingly beautiful someone is. Also, ogling seems to have connatations of just considering girls breasts and butts, although i always look everywhere, namely the face (eyes, lips, hair). So when i say a hottie, i mainly mean a girl with a beautiful face and then the rest kind of follows off that. Although they normally have a pretty nice body too boot aswell :p

I also never make any kind of comments, i merely smile at anyone. I am not trying to justify what i may be doing as ogling, but i was after different peoples classifications and what the etiquette may be for just admiring the beauty around us.

EDIT: Ok i was so stirred up, i forgot to ask for the girls side as well. And if they ever ogle at men?
Also if guys normally ogle over womens breats and butts (alhough i definitley always get attracted to face first), what body parts namely draw you to a man (i know a thread has been done before, but this is a little different)

It depends on the guy which part I ogle. Quite often it's a guys shoulder area. Sometimes eyes, hair, butt, legs, umm.. everything?

I don't usually ogle a beautiful girl. I would rather glance at her and appreciate whatever catches my attention. Openly ogling usually scares people in which case they do not stay in your sight as long. Several glances and I usually see what I want.

I save the ogling for the freaks of the world. Much more entertaining.

Hm i guess i'm one of those freaks that ogle at the girls i find attractive..
Granted, they're not quite the beautyqueens people normally drool over, so i'm not quite sure if they find it _very_ offensive.

I'd say any glance that

a. lasts more than 3 seconds

or

b. gets noticed with annoyance by the girl you're looking at or the girl you're with

or

c. involves drool or whimpering

is ogling.

Be subtle. Be quick. Be polite.

I like it when women ogle me. It tells me that it's okay to pick them up.

Oh yeah I definitely ogle. Some women don't appreciate it but you know -we wouldn't get along anyway if they're like that.

I do both at the same time. I look at and pay attention to everyone who walks before me. I don't lust after them or anything, I just figure.. if they are hot and stuff, "Damn.. that's one attractive person." And I usually leave it at that. Sometimes I'll think further.. "Wonder how old she is.. would she model?" But then that's my job speaking.

hmm...if ogling means wondering what they'd look like naked or how they'd be in bed...sure, i do it. :D

I try not to be rude.

It's just that some are so good-looking I can't get enough,
or that "hunger" is just there and anything that moves is a target.

Fortunately, I'm not too bad...I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable
but boy, do I wish I was invisible at times so I could just gander interupted.

I dont think I ever ogle.. usually I make eye contact with most of the girls I pass.. though I do still ocassionally glance at the other parts :D Eye's/face is what I find most sttractive about most women.

Easy to type, not always easy to do. I (happily!) have a gf now, but there have been prolonged periods of unwanted celebacy in my life, and during such times, I've found it very difficult to tear my eyes away from attractive women. I'm thinking that's a guy thing, though the media seems to be waking up to the fact that women can have trouble pulling their eyes away from some guys, too...

i don't see anything wrong with ogling. some women enjoy it the ones who don't usually let you know.

For me the difference between an ogle and a glance is what's going on in their minds when they do it. An ogle is someone who gives you a look that tells you they are thinking thoughts you'd rather not ponder, stuff that would give you the heebie jeebies, super creepy thoughts. Ogles give me a feeling of defensiveness, like I need to protect myself from that person. That they could be potentially dangerous. It feels like you're being raped by someone's stare. A glance is more like enjoying the sites, playful, friendly, and maybe a little flirtatious or like foreplay. Glances don't have the same sense of horney desperation as an ogle.

No wonder men love it when women ogle them.

I am constantly looking at girls. I try not to be obvious, but if I am out and about I am looking. I can't help myself. It's what I do. I love women and how they look... is that a crime? So go ahead and lock me up.

I glance at women all the time... but never long enough to be noticed. I never seem to get slapped for it, so... :)

Oh boy, oh boy...

If I am with my wife, I sneak a peek, at best, and be sure to pretend I don't notice. If solo, then I generally feel pretty free to enjoy the view, as long as it isn't too obvious. I don't think I ogle, really...I just look, maybe my mouth waters a bit...

It's the oddest thing, really, because my wife is gorgeous and I cannot imagine wanting anyone but her, but I do still appreciate good-looking chicks...guess it's like masturbation for the eyes.

i wish there was someone to ogle at..no,some to give a second glance to at my college :(
