relationship possible after a drunken hookup?
 

I went to this party last night, and needless to say, I got pretty drunk, and so did this other girl. In our drunken states, we hit it off pretty well... talking, laughing, some dancing. I asked her out (she said yes), and I also got her number. We hooked up later after talking for quite a bit. Nothing too heavy, just making out, nothing more than that (we didnt spend the night)

So now I'm here, the morning after, with her phone number. What I remember of her, I like, and I want to call her. Do you think it's a bad idea? Can a relationship happen after something like that?

Absolutely. But you'll probably have to start knowing that she'll be as uncomfortable about it as you are. You probably can't just barge into asking her for a date.

I apparently had that same situation last weekend. Though I wasnt drunk, and neither was he. Anyway, numbers were exchanged but funnily enough mine wasn't called!

Give her a call... Today! Tell her you had a good time, and that youd like to have a chance to get to know her better, under non drunken circumstances.

I see no reason why not. You might want to acknowledge that you both might be a little sheepish and uncomfortable because you were drunk at the time, but hell, if you hit it off why waste an opportunity? See if you like each other as well when you're sober.

If she gets annoyed that you're calling her today, and not waiting the lame 2-3 days, then don't bother with her. She's obviously an idiot.

But I'm guessing she is like most women. Secretly hoping that the guy they hooked up with the night before will call, and call soon. You've got nothing to lose, and a lot to gain. Call her up, have a chat. See where it goes.

Good move, by only making out with her. Sometimes if you go too far the first night you meet a girl, she may feel slutty and think that now whenever you call her you just want to hook up. But, I think this is the best way a relationship can start, because this way you both know you are attracted to one another and are comfortable enough with eachother to already have hooked up. Of course, you better hope she wasnt tooo tooo drunk, or she may not remember you, or may not like you when shes NOT drunk. Either way, give her a call.

Well... I met a previous girlfriend that way. Needless to say, it didnt work out very well. She ended up telling me that I need to not get with people you hook up with, and that she was pretty much cheating on me the whole time.....so I dont really talk to her anymore. But Im sure they can work out sometimes.

Please don't call the next day. Call her Wednesday and ask her to hang out Friday. Despite what anybody tells you, some games are necessary in keeping her interested and to make sure she doesn't think you are some pushover or a desperate guy. Trust me on this one ;)

I had a similar run-in about two weeks ago, and called her the very next day....hey, I promised her I would, and drunk or no: if I remember the promise, I make good on the promise.

If memory serves me right (and it does) I wound up going over to her place the next night for a relaxing evening of watching DVDs. Nothing too heavy, but we'll see where things go (you might already know this if you follow my journal entries - start with #36).
