The penis head is also designed to break a sort of filmy layer that forms after a woman has already had sex with another man. In many animals like mice, and to a lesser degree in humans, a sort of film barrier forms after semen is deposited to block more semen from entering. The reason that penis' are more pointed is so that they can break the film more easily. That is likely why penis' aren't cylinders with a flat end and a hole.

If anyone has met one of the females from SUNY Albany, you'd realize that there was no real need for an artificial vagina in this experiment.
