a) You are of legal age to have sexual relations (which we should all be.... but...
b)You have had the opportunity to have sex, but have not, for some reason or other.

WHAT made you decide to keep your virginity? or lose it.. for that matter.....

Virgin. In a committed loving relationship for a year now. We're not comfortable with the consequences (or the potential consequences) of sex.(which is a baby) just not ready for that now. 3% chance is hellava big, if you ask me. Thats one every 33 tries..... on average.

Sex for intimacy? Whats not intimate about sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings. Laughing and crying together at life. I could go on, but you get the point. Sex for intimacy....errrr...

not that we don't do ANYTHING...... oral and mutual masturbation has led to 100% satisfaction with 0% risk.

off the top of my head I can count two occasions where a girl wanted to have sex with me. Turn both of them down, but that was back when I was saving myself for marriage. Now I'm just waiting until I find someone I care about.

I'm with you, dimbulb. Pretty much in a similar situation myself. And my gf and I are still plenty satisfied.

Um... when they say there's a 3% chance, it doesn't mean 1 of 33 tries, it means 1 of 33 *women* using the pill. If it were 1 in 33 times of having intercourse, we would be swimming in babies.

dimbulb, is your name Clinton, by any chance? Oral sex is sex. I understand what you mean - no intercourse - but where I come from, a virgin - male or female - has never engaged in any sexual activity.

As for me, I've been married for over twenty years. Definitely NOT a virgin!

I had oral sex when I was 17 but waited for true sex till I was 20. I don't really regret waiting, however I think I should have went ahead.
I was waiting for love, but whatever. sex is sex. It'll be more special with someone you love sure, but why wait? It's alot fun, but I don't consider it a huge "deal"

I see what you're saying, but I'm still with dimbulb. A woman's virginity is lost at penetration when the hymen is broken during penetration. Of course there are the occasional accidents where the hymen can be broken without any kind of sex. But I think the same penetration type rule applies to men. Now if this were about "sexual relations", well, that'd be different. But for the sake of this thread, I'm going with the penetration definition. Also, without penetration, you don't have to worry about pregnancy (to an extent, as long as you're conscious about where your fluids are going.)

Still a virgin and will be until next year when I get married. I do not regret waiting one bit. Reasons for waiting include my spiritual beliefs and a mutual agreement that it is not necessary to show our love to each other.

Occasional? In the last five years, i've had sex with three different women who were technically virgins but had no hymen whatsoever. It's pretty rare to find an intact hymen on a woman these days. That opinion may have held true for centuries, but it's gradually more accepted that a woman will probably lose her hymen from activities unrelated to sexual intercourse.

The reason that I bring this up is that the first girlfriend I slept with was completely shocked at the ease of our first sexual encounter, and actually upset by it. She felt like she denied me something. It took a few weeks and actually some research to convince her otherwise.

I have to agree with Denim - was 16 (I waited til I was legal), had the boy picked out - he was 19 so i thought he'd know what he was doing (I was wrong) but it was out of the way - it was just sex, nothing so special after all but once out of the way it enabled me to go out and have a lot more fun afterwards.
