I think it would be fun to take pictures of a girl as she strips - kind of be an amateur softcore porn photographer. I'm currently considering trying on Craigslist to find models to pose nude for me because my girl isn't interested. I was wondering if there are any amateur photographers out there that have tried anything like this and what it was like...where did you find the girl?

I'd imagine most erotic pictures taken between consenting adults are boyfriends/husbands with digital cameras snapping photos of their girlfriend/wife posing in lingerie / bath towel / bikini or performing various techniques from the age old badger dance. Paying a Craigslist hooker to take dirty pics is a kinda skeezy investment for an end product you can acquire en masse online for free.

I took some of one of my exes, at her request. I used a Polaroid camera if you remember those (you press a button and a print pops out). I left all the pictures with her and she kept them in a drawer in her bedroom and sometimes we would take them out and look at them. I think I'll ask her if she still has them (it's been years) and if I can see them again.

The internet is already flooded with Guys With Cameras - many of which are creeps willing to misrepresent themselves and their work in the hope of seeing some naked chicks. To counteract the creep factor, many women will ask to bring along a friend who will undoubtedly second guess your every move and annoy/intimidate all of the fun out of the situation.

That is if he/they don't attempt to rob you, stiff you on the price, have you arrested for sexual harassment or rape or some perceived sexual advance, or if the model isn't actually a prostitute or total waste of your time...

This isn't to say that your every encounter will turn out this way but with so many men jailed and labeled predators over situations much less sexually charged, is it really worth the risk? Not to mention that by the time you've covered your ass sufficiently, you've removed much of the "fun" from the situation.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I initially chose to ignore it, and found some people online supposedly willing to pose for cash. But after scheduling a time for the first shoot, I gave it a second thought and canceled. As others have pointed out here, I don't think it's worth the risk/hassle/money in the end. Maybe someday I'll get my wife to pose for me, but she's said that if we did she'd want them erased right away...in which case, what's the point? Also, she's good at many things, and beautiful, but likely not a very good model.

With all that, I still think it would be an interesting and fun experience, and feel like I've seen enough porn (some good, but much of it bad) that I could do a better than average job as a photographer producing erotic images.

I have done it several times, never really looked too hard, being in college helped. Mostly friends that wanted to get a portfolio started without spending money. Other times alcohol was involved. Sometimes all it takes is having the equipment and some women just flock to it. It can be a fun process as long as you don't get weird about it.

I did quite a bit of erotic and nude photography a few years back. Initially, I had to find and hire models on sites like One Model Place (don't know if it even still exists), but once I had a good portfolio going (also posted on OMP), the women were contacting me for shoots as TFP (time for prints). Just don't pay the model and then give her the photos--make that clear with her up front. I also made clear in the initial phone conversation that I would have a girlfriend present during the shoot with me (and I did) and they were welcome to bring their husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends. It took it all out of the realm of sleaziness. Doing a really good job of fine art nudes or erotic photography is a LOT of hard work, but it's also alot of fun, especially if the model is comfortable and has experience with nude photo shoots previously.

As to the post at hand, digital cameras weren't around back in mid 80 to late 80's when I was at University. I did have a GF that I was quite crazy about and we had taken poloroids of each other.
