My parents were very liberal when I was growing up. Sex was a normal thing, and there was no guilt attached to it. I was extremely into guys during my teens, and somewhat rebellious (dangerous combination). I lost my virginity at 15 (I'd given oral for the first time about a year or so before that) to a guy who didn't know I was a virgin. It was fucking fantastic. Not the right approach for everyone, but for me, it was great. My parents didn't mind my boyfriend staying over. They both had "the talk" with me, and understood that it was going to happen. They trusted me to make my own decisions, and always taught me to deal with consequences of my actions. I could have gone to them to talk about anything, and for that I'm eternally grateful.

I'm a big fan of casual relationships (hence my curiosity, and reason for starting that particular thread in LL). I'm not ready to be in a serious relationship - I'm not ready for the commitment. I've dated someone for 10 months "casually". We'd talk about other lovers with each other, and be perfectly honest. Safety has always been a massive concern of mine, which is why I need honesty. I'm dating someone now, someone who I'm incredibly in lust with. We have a lot of fun, we go on dates, we play video games, we have sex, and if I want, I can leave at 3am without him getting insulted, and get into my own bed.

It works for me, and I enjoy every moment of it. And him. Just because it's casual, doesn't mean he means nothing to me. We have respect for each other, and that's always a requirement.
