Source for High-Quality Costumes?
 

Anyone know a place that sells high quality costumes/outfits? Recently I was talking with Starkizzer about how it would be fun for her to dress up for some sexy photos, but we don't have sexy outfits for her.

Halloween shops are always good when they are around, but everything is pretty expensive for how flimsy the materials are and the quality of the construction. I'm hoping for someplace that sells things that well made, like something you could actually wear regularly and have last. Anyone have any sources?

In the spirit of some fun discussion, what would you like your s/o to dress up as? Everyone says that Starkizzer looks like Snow White. I think she'd make a hot Snow White! If you don't think that is possible, you haven't watched Rammstein's music video for Sonne:

This is basically just for uniforms. As far as costumes go i.e. Vampire, fantasy dressup sessions ... I'm at a loss for these.

My man really likes it when I dress up, as anything really. He says it really produces a vivid mental effect on him when I leave on an item of clothing or two when we have sex - and thigh highs REALLY get him going. He discusses different costumes/outfits he'd like to see me in, it's really his "thing."

As for me.. I'm not really huge on costumes. I just like to see a sharp dressed man (and later a hot UNdressed man), so well-fitting clothes go over verrry well with me.

I believe we're going as Han Solo and Princess Leia (the slave costume) for Halloween this year, though we've talked about quite a few other pairings.

I have no idea where to find quality costumes except through good professional tailors or via the same routes as major fans for certain lines of interest (Star Trek, Star Wars, anime, etc.). I supposed I need to do some research to keep my man happy. :P

I've been looking for a realistic gorilla suit for over 6 years now. It's not sexual, but I figure getting the word out never hurts.

Anyway, the best costumes are the ones you can get for real. Military/police uniforms, scrubs, etc. can all be found second hand. Things like the Bat-Suit and Star Trek uniforms are a lot harder to find in a decent quality.

Trashy.com has a decent selection of stereotypical "Sexy _whatever_" costumes.

Any experience with them? For their prices, I'd hope that they are the quality I am looking for, but you never know.

I would advise staying away from adult shop, Club X and the big chain places you find - they just buy from those first 3 companies anyways from what I have seen well when it comes to costumes they do

If you're looking for something more gothic like or in leather you could try places like

Elegant Leather

Most of the stores should have some type of catalogue for you to look at if you want to as well ( as in actual in person adult stores)

My only really useful piece of advise for you is to check what it will cost for you to purchase directly from the company and how much it would cost to buy the same thing through a retailer - the two can be VERY different.

Sorry to derail the conversation from the original intent. I think that if you're looking for special effects costumes such as the gorilla suit you'd be better off talking to a special effects make-up artist. Realistic FX costumes are tailored specifically to the person wearing it so I doubt you'll ever find a generic one that passes very well.

I don't know of any high quality costume manufacturers off-hand; but everything can be had for a price.

You might think about making them yourself. I used think that stuff was really hard, but got into sewing recently. Not easy, but not as difficult as you might think.

Do you have The Shed in your area? They don't all have the same inventory (we have two in town; one is mostly a head shop and the other is mostly an adult entertainment store), but you might be able to find what you want.

They're high quality from the limited amount of stuff I've seen, and they'll make it right if it isn't. They get my endorsement.
