You seem to have done all your research on this topic and as far as I can see there shouldn't be an issue - I would check if as a minor her parents can press charges on her behalf and accuse you of rape as she's still a child (don't mean I think of her as a child but more in a legal sense) though.

Not much help to you otherwise since I'm an international member.

I know the laws of consent here are 16 - 17 yr olds can have sex together but an 18 and 16 yr old can not because the 18 yr old is legally as adult while the 16 yr old is not.

Hence my advice on checking that out about her parents pushing charges.

As you're only 2 (well atm 3) years older then her you should be fine as long as she doesn't change her mind.

On a side note by the your age + or - 7 years my BF and I are juuuuust out of range - he's 7.5 years older then me - does this mean I get to tease him about being a cradle robber?

It's not your age +7, it's 'half the age of the older person + 7'

If you're less than 21 (making him 28), then yes, creepy, since (28/2)+7=21

I dunno TM - I'm just inside the margin for him then but that also means I could be dating people ridiculously young (as in just legal to have a physical relationship with)

I also can't see "But XKCD said it was alright" standing up in court if charged with Statuatory rape

Not much to add here, but I just discovered that the age of consent in Iceland is 14 years. Not surprising at all, given the culture of drinking and sexing that begins very young--I'm just surprised that they actually set the legal bar so low. Scandinavia for you!

To interpret it literally, I would think he's not in the clear. I take over 18 to mean >> OF 18 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE << Hence, he should wait.

By definition, if you are one minute into your 18th birthday, then you are "over" 18 years of age. hence the wording of the rule.

On a side note, i think this age dating creepy "rule" of age/2 +7 is silly. I cant believe people actually think that well into it...who made the rule? why is it that if I was 26, and she was 19, that is is "creepy" but if she were 20, well then THAT is ok? wtf? I think it is rediculous. if two people care about each other, who has the right to deem that they are "creepy" together once they have reached the age of consent?
