More to the point, do you think about things that you already have (sex with a SO) or things that you wish you had (a new position that you haven't tried, or a girl that you don't have)? What about things that actually happened that were hot and worth remembering?

One of the questions women tend to ask their partners is, "Do you think of me when you jerk off?" I'm guessing the answer is usually "No."

I've thought about past experiences that stick with me, that I want to experience again. I've thought about girls that I want. I've thought about things that I want out of my partner, but may be not possible/allowed. I have a hard time finding the things that I have explicit access to "jerk-worthy." I mean, if you could do it, why jerk to it rather than actually get it?

I don't think I've ever thought about a current or previous partner while masturbating. I tend to think of someone very desirable but unobtainable. Or I imagine what it would be like to be the only woman in a communal shower full of men.

I agree with Halx that most people tend to fantasize about something or someone that they cannot have. For me, I often picture scenarios with multiple female partners when I want release. The females involved aren't usually anyone in particular, maybe a composite of a number of women that I have seen or some sort of ideal. The fantasies often do involve my wife and another woman, or occasionally another man or couple. Occasionally, I do just focus on my wife, though even then it is usually something that I wish that she did more often or at all.
