Hair: flow it, show it, long as God can grow it
We're talking head hair here.
For myself, I hate dealing with my hair and would love to cut it short for the sake of convenience. I would love to be short and sassy like I was when I was 17, but I keep it long 'cause it drives my guy wild. He's turned on when I flip it or play with it and totally gets off when it surrounds his face when I'm on top. So I keep it, not just because he loves it but, because it makes me feel sexy. As for guys, I normally don't care for really long hair. It reminds me of my teen boyfriends that looked just like me. I have to see if I can locate this photo of my boyfriend and I where we have the same long dark curly hair, parted in the middle, a la mid 1970s. That said, I tend to like very short hair on a guy. If he can carry it, bald is very sexy to me. What about you? What turns you on? What makes you feel sexy, hair-wise?

I can't stand body-hair...of any kind. If I could lose it all (except eyebrows and lashes) permanently, I would do it in a heartbeat.
I absolutely love mandy's long hair though. It's super sexy. She wants to cut it after the wedding though. Please talk her out of it.

Same. I don't like short hair on a woman. Don't care about guys.

That I can't do.
Short hair can make a gal feel sexy, too, so you have to consider what makes her feel good. You guys seems to communicate well. Let her know why it means so much to you, but in the end I know she'll be sexy no matter which way she goes. -----Added 26/8/2008 at 10 : 08 : 16----- What about you? I'm trying to ascertain if guys have a preference for themselves. Do you feel more manly or sexy with your hair any particular way?

I have short hair (obviously, if you look at my profile picture). I actually generally feel sexier with short hair - more athletic, able to go harder, a little more raw. I haven't had hair past my shoulders since 5th grade, so "long" hair for me is just past chin length. Long hair is hot, unruly, tangly, and often hurts.. and since my hair is fine and I have no skill, I can't make it look nice anyway without pulling it back.
I'm better off with short hair.

I've posted pics with my hair looking like that. Also, I haven't used a brush/comb in about....5 months. I comb my hair with water. That way it goes down in waves and stays down instead puffing up. I have wavy hair. The longer it is, the wavier it is. So water keeps it in control and doesn't make it look like I have a 'fro.

I prefer my hair short--not too short, somewhere between ear and chin length, in an A-line cut. In fact, I'm going to have to get it cut pretty soon here. I get some bad scalp issues going on when my hair gets too long. My hair is just too thick and wavy to be worn long; I feel as if I'm drowning in my own hair. The weight can get pretty unbearable too. I always chop it off twice a year, once in spring, and once in fall, and just keep it trimmed up in between. But it never gets past my shoulders. Once I can start putting it in a tiny ponytail, I know it's getting too long.
My guy prefers long hair, but because I hate, hate, hate having long hair, he has to deal with it. The deal is that if he gets a haircut, I earn a haircut, and vice-versa, because I prefer him with long hair

The hair must match the face. I like a wild mane of hair just as much as I like a cropped little bit of it. It really just depends on how they wear it.

I generally prefer my hair on the longer side. I find it easier for myself to manage. I have a head of naturally curly hair and if it gets too short then it has all the less weight on it and ends up doing whatever it pleases. With it long I can pull it back if it is in the way, toss it in a bun, ponytail or whatever I choose.
As for my guy, I would have to say I prefer it short. |

I had short hair for most of my life and decided a couple years ago to let it grow out as a change of pace.
I like my longer hair. I never really gave a lot of thought to whether the ladies find it sexy, but I think it suits me and works well as an expression of who I am. Magpie also likes my long hair, and I'm a big fan of hers (long dark hair is a huge thing for me). Admittedly, we do occasionally end up with a mouthful of each others' locks when things get a bit passionate, but it just comes with the territory. On balance, I'm willing to say it's worth it.

I have had long to medium-long hair for years now...about 10 years. Before that, I had it short for even longer. So I have tried a lot of hair styles. Short is very practical, and it can feel very empowering. It gave me a pixie look I quite liked. I have a small face and features with big eyes so it suited me at the time. Then I got tired of short and now that I know what to do with them, I love my wild curls.
I have been with guys when I had my hair short and when I've had it long, and I think they prefer it long. Mainly because it's good to grab...and run fingers through. Short was good because it didn't get in the way during sex...Sometimes hair can be annoying. If I could, I'd get rid of all body hair except for a few wispy blonde bits here and there (I'd keep head hair and eyebrows entirely of course!). I am currently considering going crazy and doing something radical with my hair though...stay tuned

I currently have fairly long hair-the back is just past my shoulders now. I very much like like long hair, on my women (though that's not to say I don't find short hair on women attractive) and on myself, because I absolutely love playing with hair; pulling it, running my fingers through it... yum. I think it works well for me except for at work where I just keep it up in a ponytail anyway.
There was a long period where my hair was just not long enough but also too long to be really comfortable-the point in its growth where it couldn't quite be pulled into a ponytail or behind my ears well, and it hung in front of my eyes constantly. But the temporary discomfort was well worth it! |

My hair is starting to touch my shoulders and it is too long for me now.
I have had all lengths of hair in my adulthood, though, from about 1/4" all over to middle of my back. I prefer it this medium length, or possibly shorter. I don't see myself ever going back to hair below my shoulders. 1. It's too much trouble and 2. I'm too old for long hair. See how my decreasing patience level matches my increasing age? It's supposed to work that way.

I'm a fan of longer hair on women, but I will admit there are some short hairstyles that I like. My wife had long hair and decided over the summer to cut it to shoulder length and it really looked good but I hope she never goes any shorter than that.
Up until last year (I turned 40) I had short hair. Even though I work in a semi-professional office setting (we never directly interact with customers so dress code is rather lax) I decided to go against the grain and let my hair grow out to around shoulder length. It can get rather shaggy right before I get it cut and I have to mousse it to keep it out of my eyes, but I enjoy it long. The longer hair and my recent weight loss prompted many positive comments, including a few asking if I was getting divorced. My wife digs it long so thats enough for me to keep it long. |

The vast majority of the time I prefer long hair on women. Some look really good with it short, but they would be attractive no matter what they do with it. I also think the vast majority of women look better with their hair down than whatever fancy hair-up style is considered acceptable for formal occasions.
For me ... I need to scan a picture of me with short hair and one with it long. With long hair I look like a rock star; with short hair I look like a troll. I think my face has actually gotten significantly more attractive since high school, but maybe it's just because I'm not so fat anymore. I don't have any old pictures of myself, and this is all there is online, so here's a before and after: Old pic right after my nose was broken at a concert. He took the picture too early and you can't see the blood running down the back of my throat. Canada, age 19, first legal drink After I decided to grow it long, but before it got there Still fat, and with a bottle of my homebrew absinthe that earned the nickname "The Green Death" Comparing height with a short friend who's standing on the couch next to me as my gigantic brother looms behind us. Long hair for girls, short hair for guys.
I hate it when my hair gets past 1/4 inch. It make me feel like a dirty hippie. I cut it every 2 weeks.

I've had hair down to my shoulders and liked it at the time. Now that my hair is starting to thin a bit, I keep it short. It also makes living in the tropics a lot cooler.
As for women, I agree with others here that all that matters is that the cut suit the face. Long or short I don't really care. It's funny though, you can start to covert what you don't have. My wife has alopecia and is bald. As a result when I see someone with long hair it makes me notice. In the past, I can't say it would have jumped out at me. I suppose it's the same way that when I see a blonde headed person here, I notice it (typically I am swimming in a sea of black hair).

I keep my hair like Dana White's. Maybe a little shorter, more like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, I guess. I don't have to worry about a girl having shorter hair than me. I just like it when it fits the girl and is healthy. Sometimes ridiculously long just seems a bit silly, so much maintenance, it seems.

I've never had my hair long. It would drive me nuts, I couldn't even stand it if it was a little shaggy. Too hot, too hard to manage if it had any length at all. Plus my hair is turning gray, my temples are mostly gray now, and I don't think long gray hair is a very good look for any guy.
I prefer women with hair that is somewhere between the top of their shoulders and the top of their boobs That length just seems to be perfect. |

As a guy, I generally don't care what other guys are sporting. Well, with the exception of mullets. Those are just wrong.
I'm actually pretty open to most hairstyles for women. Let's face it - women are sexy almost no matter what style they've got (with the exception of big, hairsprayed hair - no thanks!). And while I sympathize with those fellas who prefer women to have a more traditional style, I give you Jean Seberg: I mean, come on. That's just gorgeous.

i despise having hair that's even a step above short. once my hair grows not even an inch, i can't stand it. i get my hair cut just about every month, and i'll probably just always get the same style of haircut for the rest of my life. i'm not at all bothered by that.
apparently i'm much more attractive with a short haircut... i suppose that's some sort of inspiration. |

I have a tough time growing my hair out. I end up getting bored and want to either cut it or dye it. Or both. Right now my hair is almost to my shoulders, and though I want to grow it out long, I'm unsure. I don't do anything with it and it gets so THICK. In recent year, the longest I have had it:
(I was 18 and that was my natural hair color. Such a blonde =P) And, the shortest, which I LOVED: I also find it easier to photograph if my hair is short. The pictures just look better... |

I am growing my hair out after having it 1 inch to chin length for 15 years. Hubby likes women with short hair, so I've never had to worry about that. I will miss the ease of care that goes along with short hair, but I'm just ready for a change.
