Playing With The Hair
Girls: do you ever stroke the hair on the back of your man's head when you're turned on?
Guys: does your girl ever stroke the hair on the back of your head when she's turned on? Back Story: Over the weekend, me and this girl I've been seeing fooled around in the back seat of my car after going to a club, afterwards I drove her home. On the ride home, she put her arm over my shoulder and started playing with the hair on the back of my head. Now, I don't have any long flowing hair, i just have a very normal man haircut, with short hair in the back, so it's nothing special. But the thing that struck me about this behavior is that my ex did this whenever she was horny and we were driving. So I'm just wondering if this is a more common thing, or just a coincidence.

Simple answer, yes.
And, for me at least, it means I'm attracted and I think you're sexy as hell and I want you.

Mine doesn't do that. If she wants me, I get tackled.

my lady friend just loves to have her hair stroked. I try and incorporate it into our sessions but forget sometimes. Does nothing for me, but love that it turns her on!
i prefer not to have my hair touched....getting thin up top and don't need no sticky hands pulling out the soldiers. |

I'm no expert by any means, but if a lady started playing with the hair on the back of my head I'd probably take that as a YES.

Let's just say if I'm stroking the hair on the back of my SO's head, I'm looking for some action. But this doesn't happen often, as I'm the dominant driver of the relationship, and we try to keep our hands off of each other in front of our roommate when sitting side-by-side at home. I have other ways of letting him know.
Though after he got his hair cut short, and they shaved a bit of his neckhair, I couldn't stop touching it. It was just so soft.

Yes. Tt knows when I start playing with his hair in the car, when we get home there's going to be some excitement.
I also stroke his hair without realizing it sometimes. He just plain likes his hair touched. He really likes it when I ruffle his hair while I'm studying or he's relaxing playing video games (not while he's thinking or working, that's just distracting). At these times, I consider it more of an "I care" touch. I like how his hair feels between my fingers. When he buzzes his hair short, all that peach fuzz is definitely fun to play with.

I always do it to the guy I am dating now. I guess it is just a sign of affection, but I never thought about it being a way of proposing sex. I like to have my hair played with so I always assume that it is making him feel good too.

I frequently stroke my lover's hair. It doesn't always mean I'm seeking action.
Women, how about stroking your own hair? Do you ever do it to attract sexual attention from a man?

I do it to show affection and because I like to touch. During driving, it's nice to reach over and caress the back of his head and neck with a casual touch. Does it mean that I'm into him? Yep. Does it mean I want sex right now? Nope. I've got better ways to get that message across.

I often notice students at the school I teach at (all girls) playing with their hair, including those who are too young to be using it as a sexual device. Makes me wonder what the psychological connection is... maybe there is some connection to being playful, nervous, affectionate, or even secure, or something.

It's "grooming", regardless of whether it actually accomplishes grooming. The instinct for mutual grooming is a powerful bond-reinforcement for almost all social mammals (and I only say "almost" because there MIGHT be an exception that I don't know about) and also social birds. Add to that the fact that quality hair is a sign of health and a sexual attractant and viola, your girlfriend will play with your hair :P I know I certainly do!

I do it because my SO loves the feeling, sometimes if I start to pull away he'll ask me really sweetly if I could do it for just a little longer. Generally it's a sweet, "I love you", casual thing, but if I start to twist my fingers in and really get into it then he knows that there is fun ahead.
I also like to have my hair rubbed as it gives me tingles all over and makes me altogether more relaxed and pliant. He loves to do that, but he does it for the same reasons I do. tl;dr Sometimes hair-rubbing means fun, but other times it's just a sweet thing to do. |

I love to do this because frankly it feels really good when it is done to me. I can's say that I do it only when I am horny and wanting sex though. It is nice just to kick back and watch a movie, lay on the couch together and run my fingers through his hair. It can be such a relaxing sensation too, but frankly.. it is a big turn on for me. I don't know about the rest of you.

yes.
sometimes it means i'm horny. yes. sometimes it means he's horny. and not always... i love having my hair played with and he knows it. in some situations it puts me to sleep, sometimes it turns me on, and sometimes it just makes me feel comforted. my SO loves his head rubbed and massaged so when we're driving, sometimes i'll just rub the back of his head or feel the hair at the base of his neck. and if i've had a couple of glasses of red wine AND i'm touching the hair on the back of his neck, we usually get home a lot faster.

Interesting bump. Now that I have a significant other, I can actually participate in this discussion.
My hair is nearly as long as my girlfriend's. She plays with my hair and I play with hers. It's not necessarily sexual in nature, although it certainly can be; really, it's just another way of expressing affection for each other.

I absolutely love when my hair is played with. I've had to warn girls to stop because it was turning me on (and been pleasantly surprised a couple times when they said they knew). Most of my exes enjoyed it for relaxation, so I incorporated it into massages.

My current SO shaves his head so it's fairly often soft anf fluffy, this means much stroking for him. For me it's not always a sign of "there's sex to come" as much as a sign of affection, I do it when I want him to calm down (he gets stressed easily) or comfort him or really at any time.
He also plays with my hair which is gradually getting longer.
