Okay, let's get down to business here...we all know now how we feel about our breasts.

Now it's time for us ladies to let everyone know how we feel about their vaginas.

I've put this in the Sexuality forum instead of the Ladies' Lounge in the interest of fairness. But the standard has been modeled on the 'Penis' thread, so let's keep it respectful.

I have not always been a fan. Not that I ever dwelled on it, really, more like ignored it unless I was using it. I never thought it was 'pretty.' But in the last couple of years, I have grown to appreciate my vagina much more. My current SO has been very encouraging in that way. He encourages me to look at it and he says I am beautiful - and now, when I look at it (in pictures or the mirror, yez, we look at it in mirrors, lol) I can see it that way. It is beautiful.

He also says it is tight which, as an older woman, is always good to hear. :)

My experience is similar. I didn't want to see it or know anything about it. I thought vaginas were ugly and was just happy that I'd been kegeling forever, so the men I'd been with were happy.

My Ex (2nd husband) loved it. He was the first to shave it because he used to love to watch how I responded while he shaved me. Slowly, I learned to appreciate her and learn that she was capable of great things.

I love my vagina--it's my uterus I have a love/hate relationship with. I'd never really thought about how I felt about my vagina until I saw The Vagina Monologues and saw Because He Liked to Look At It. I think it's awesome, and it certainly brings me a great deal of pleasure.

I really like the way mine looks. I do wish it would allow me to come faster/easier, but we're working on that. And it has a tendency to leak noticeably (to me) on a daily basis, but I've had that since puberty so I guess I'm used to it.

As a kid, I was pretty curious (and dirty) and was always checking it out with a little hand mirror, trying to figure out what was going on in all those folds. Then I hit puberty and actually, I didn't really think about my vagina (as a sexual organ) for a long time, until I started masturbating regularly at age 22. That's when I really got out the mirror and checked it out again. Most of the time now I still don't think about it, except for during sex. I do like to keep it fairly trim and clean, but I do not like to shave it.

Agreed. I keep it trimmed around the edges, but will not shave it. The time or two that I have in the past, I was not happy with the way it looked.

Ocasionally, I will cut the hair short so that it lays flat, but that's the extent of it.

Overall, I love it.

I get off really quickly, and lots. One spring break awhile back my goal was to reach 50 orgasms... and I completed it. But I orgasm from clitoral stimulation TOO easily when I'm masturbating or receiving oral... I try to hold it but it just happens too quick. If we're talking about the vulva too - well I've grown to like it. When I was growing up the guys would always make fun of girls with larger lips - calling them bat flaps, saying that a girl with larger labia is "lose." I even encountered some girls making fun of another girl for having "a wizard sleeve vagina." Yes, a wizard sleeve. Of course, that's not the case, and I look back and laugh at the people.

Anyways, I'm thinking about getting surgery to make my labia smaller - I don't mind their size and my boyfriend likes them, but they can become REALLY uncomfortable. They get pinched sometimes, and what not when I'm walking. And, it's really hard in public to fix the problem.

I used to shave it completely for years, then I started letting it grow out a bit to a landing strip. I generally shift between those two, sometimes I let it grow out and just trim it. But to be honest, when I do let it grow out, it's never really that much hair. I always thought if I left it grow I'd have some insane bush... but it didn't happen, which I suppose I'm glad about.

As for the shaving, I'm on and off. I used to love the shaving ritual. A towel on the bed, lotion and a slow methodical shaving complete with washcloths. Kind of a pleasant memory of a very pleasant process. I usually don't shave at all (scissor trim only) in winter, and partially shave in the summer.

I have this, too...and it will keep shrinking...no worries!

I have a love-hate relationship with mine.

There's things visually I like and others I don't. I think generally it looks nice, it's a nice pink shade and the labia are quite small. I hate having hair there though, but I don't really like to shave or wax it, the first instance because of regrowth, the second instance because it fucking hurts and is expensive to get done (besides the fact that some strange woman is getting a real close look there - do not like that). I do shave it most of the time though because I love the way it feels. I always leave a little hair up top (on the pubis) for decoration :D

Physically, it's highly sensitive and pain can often be an issue for me, which annoys me no-end as I do like it hard and rough some of the time. I am also damned tight and though it can be good for the guy, sometimes I just wish it would let up a little. I have been told childbirth may help that (!). I can come quickly from clitoral stimulation, in a matter of seconds, but usually it takes quite a while for a guy to get me there, if at all. don't think I have ever come solely from penetration. So physically it's not the finest tuned of things! I'm working on understanding it better every day though.

I've become quite a fan of depilatory creams, even though I know a lot of other ladies hate them. I've gotten pretty good at applying them, though, and it eliminates the bumps and quick re-sprouting that I got from shaving. They take some patience and dexterity to apply correctly, but I've found them to be a cheap and easy way to elimate hair from the bikini area.

And, it took me years and years to get to the point where I could orgasm from intercourse. A huge part of it is foreplay...getting excited to the point where the slightest clitoral contact will set you off. But, and I learned this in my first marriage in which I was the dominant sex partner, if a woman wants to orgasm from intercourse, the combination of fantasy and correct hip placement is crucial. And that may sound bad, or selfish, or something, but it's not - women deserve to get as much satisfaction from intercourse as men do. Once you become accustomed to which positions and angles make you respond (just like with masturbation), it becomes easier to achieve orgasm and it frees you to be a more present and aggressive sex partner. And generally, guys like that. Just my two cents worth on the 'orgasm during intercourse' thing. :)

Hmmm. I like my vagina. It let two beautiful kids into the world and penises seem to like it just fine. I don't shave. I get killer ingrowns if I shave the actual pubic area, and it's just not worth it. Plus, I don't like the look of being bald. I prefer my bush. I take good care of it, so the hair never looks overgrown or ratty, and I do shave my actual bikini line according to the swimsuits I wear in the summer. But I'd prefer to look like a real woman, instead of a pre-pubescent girl.

I didn't intend for my statement to be simply materialistic. They honestly are really uncomfortable, and I wouldn't change them if that wasn't the case.

But in all honesty, it would make me more secure about myself if I had the procedure done. I won't lie. It's unbelievably difficult to be a woman who isn't persuaded by our standards in society.

And I'm not looking for a new partner or anything, but the younger guys have such higher standards for women, and being that I'm still pretty young, it's affected me.

Screw getting work done, you're more then fine the way you are.

The sooner you realize most of those younger guys (and gals) are simply shallow and not worth your time the better off you're going to be and thus less affected.

Plus it sounds like you're with a person that you're pretty well matched with, stick with him and forget anything coming out of some young shallow, mentally hollow wannbe.
