I'm sure this can't be the most embarassing question in this forum. I'll just cut to the chase. I was just wondering how long it takes everyone on average to reach an orgasm?

For me alot of it is based on conditions but i'd say on average it takes about 10-15 minutes from oral sex and about half an hour from intercourse. I always assumed that was average until i talked to a friend of mine and he told me he never has an orgasm for at least 45 minutes from oral sex or otherwise. Just looking for some outside imput.

It's not really possible to get a reliable average from two data points you know. . . . or even 100.

Example: One guy makes a billion dollars a year. 99 others make 1 dollar a year. Average salary? $10,000,000.99. Not real comforting to the 99 chumps only making a buck.

The range is meaningless. I as an individual have gone anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours. What's average? Even for just me, I don't pretend to know. It depends on the partner, the cirumstances, how long it's been, any number of factors.

Seriously, just relax and enjoy yourself. There's no normal, there's no number here that has any meaning whatsoever. As long as you're happy and she's happy, there's no point in worrying about anything else.

Consider also that your friend may be lying. Men typically feel a need to inflate their numbers. I'm not saying he's definitely doing that, but it's a possibility. What's worth keeping in mind is that 15-20 minutes of being an attentive and exciting lover is better for her than an hour or more of pretending to be a jackhammer almost every time.

Despite often taking longer than men to climax... women get bored with repetitive sex, too.

I'd venture to suggest they don't wanna feel like the immobile ground under an oil derrick... constantly getting pumped 24/7 with no end in sight. Yeah, time is just incredibly variable, based on way too many factors. How horny am I? How long has it been since last time? How hot is the girl I'm with? How good is she at what she's doing? What's she willing to do? What are we both in the mood for? Do we have to be anyplace when we're done?

Also, I admit, if left to my own devices, I am a second-rounder. I tend to be quick on the draw the first round, but I recover very fast (even faster if I get a little help! :D) , and then I can last pretty much as long as I need to on the second round. On the first round, I'm lucky if I can make it 10-15 minutes. But on the second round, whatever my honey's in the mood for: 45 minutes, 90 minutes, it's all good.

Not necessarily. Again, depending on lots of factors, men in their 40s and 50s definitely can hold out for 45 minutes. You just have to know when to say "How 'bout those Mets?" :D

I agree with all of the above. Minutes for some, up to nearly an hour for others. And this difference isn't necessarily from man to man, but from each particular "event" and circumstance.

As for me as a woman, it used to be it would take me a really long time (never timed but I'd guess about 1/2 hour). But once a partner and I had developed a certain intimacy level, he and I learned what it took and he could have me orgasm in less than five minutes.

Not having tried both, but I can't see how this can be true. On a woman you have to use mainly your tongue - not much strength and gets tired easily (unless you are a woman). On a man you get to use your neck - much stronger, or you can stay still and let him do the work.

I'm not sure I want to get into this argument, but those of us going the other way don't exactly have it easy either. Any man who just uses his tongue when he goes down on a woman is not doing it right and deserves to be there for 45 minutes. The job properly entails co-ordination between tongue, jaw and lips as well as hands; there's a lot of multi-tasking going on. Add to that the fact that women vary hugely in what does or does not work for them (much more so than men, I would imagine) and the whole mental process of figuring out what does or does not work, and we've got quite the challenge too. Too much pressure, too little pressure, too fast, too slow, direct stimulation vs. indirect, and so on. Y'all aren't as easy to get off as you maybe think.
