I've always been unusually limber. Getting the ankles to the ears is never much of a problem, but some of those really deep thrust positions hit my cervix in a not too pleasant way. Give me "wrap my legs around you missionary" style anyday.

Am I surprised that others like this position? Not really. In fact, I'm hoping to read that many others do. The surprise for me may be because most of my past partners didn't really like this position or weren't able to get into this position.
