hey everyone, i recently turned 18, and my girlfriend will be turning 16 in two months, and i was just wondering if anyone knew about the legal issues concerning that. Is it still stautatory rape...? we have had sex before, and i really dont feel like going to jail..... She is still 15, and i want to know if it would be legal for us to have sex until she turns 16.

btw, the state is kentucky, thanks in advance.

Well... basically it depends on what state/country you live in. Most states, what you did is Illegal... your pretty much screwed if she wanted to tell authorities on you... I would definitly be careful on that. I think that 18 and 16 isnt too bad, but I think it still is considered illegal.

You should wait a while you know? but since you already dipped the stick its already too late.

Age of consent in Kentucky is 16. No exceptions. Lay of for a few months, or break a serious law that can ruin your life.

This site states differently and says that the age is 14, and only 16 if the man is over 21.

However, this is the internet. You're going to get mixed messages and reports all over the place. I wouldn't outright trust any site you find. If it's enough of an issue to you, go ask somebody who would know or do some of your own research at the library.

Do I think it's a stupid law? Yeah. Would I keep having sex with my girlfriend? Yeah. But would I complain when I got in legal trouble because it's technically illegal? Only because the law is ignorant of the people under it. If you decide to keep having sex with your girlfriend in spite of the law - saying, "Fuck the man" as you do, you may find yourself getting fucked right back by the man without any kind of protection.... and he looks like this:

hmm... alright i have read lots of sites about it, but they all say different stuff and it confuses the hell outa me >.< i just want to know the real laws on it....

Call the police department and ask. Just say you were wondering about the Kentucky Age of Consent law and were asking for your sister or something. If you're old enough to be having sex then you should be responsible about it.

According to the State of Kentucky's website, you're in the clear if she's over 16 and you're under 21. According to Kentucky law, any minor below the age of 16 is incapable of consenting to a sexual act.

Well, that's really the thing. They're the ones who would press charges and turn it into a legal issue, if it were to happen. So the question to answer, if it turns out the law is against you on this, is: would they bring charges?

Age of consent laws suck.

In New Zealand, the age of consent is 16 but there was a bill introduced that would allow sex between two parties over 12 and under 16 years old if the eldest party was not more than 2 years older than the youngest. For example, 14 and a 16 year old could legally have sex, or a 15 and a 17 year old, and so on.

Greatest idea ever, but unfortunatley it was defeated, as all the conservative parties jumped up and down saying that because that was the law everyone would start fucking each other... somehow... All it would have done was legalise what is already happening, is practically unpolicable and very much exploitable - considering the average age for a male to lose his virginity here is 15-18 years old.

I'm pretty sure the cops can decide to press charges with or without the parent's consent.

I don't know what the specifics of your local or state law are, but I've heard that if the difference in ages between the two parties is two years or less, then it is highly unlikely to be prosecuted.

I'd go with whatever the Kentucky State Website says. That will be your best bet since it directly from the state. And I don't know whether the parents would have to press charges. That would be my first instinct but even so, someone has to report it and it's usually the parents. You can probably find that on your state website too.

I know that here in Arizona it is legal if both of you are within two years of age. However you two are not so that wouldn't help you here anyways.

I don't see any thing in the panel but an Admin banished him so he must not have actually been 18, or something else was going on.

Anyway, if he actually did turn 18 and his gf was about to turn 16, then he should just wait till she's 16. I mean, they can't really prosicute him for the stuff they did while he was 17. Porn can be his lover in the meantime...

Way back in the day I was part of a similar situation except I was 18 and the guy was 16... all we did was cuddle until he turned 18... thats right we waited 2 years and 9 months to have sex.
