Which vibrator to buy as first sextoy for gf?

Hey,
just recently I talked about dildos and vibrators with my gf and she remarked, she never got one, but I could buy one for her - well, why not.
so here's my question, and suggestions which one to buy? I thought of 'stranger' or 'heartbreaker' from http://www.funfactory.de

and comments? any experiences with that brand? any other advices for buying sextoys for the first time? better go together or buy it as a surprise?

thanks so far

Hmmm ....... I have a variety of ones. Although my double's alot of fun, the silly thing has all these flashing lights and creates abit of a disco in the bedroom. Hence for that one, I've got to kind of hide under the blankets.

I find any good size one is fantastic or the smaller 'pocket pack' ones (I like to call, are great too. Great for the arse and I can also have it and my man inside me. We both benefit then. Don't know brands though.

A good friend of mine bought me a set of butterflies for my last birthday - another option just for her! Shaped like a butterfly and vibrates like hell and sits ever so snuggly onto your clit - HEAVEN!!!! Happy experimenting Brusus!

If you're looking to hide one you might want to look into the vibrating eggs.

I don't know where you are but adameve.com had a good selection of toys

My first vibrator was the bullet. Still my favorite after 8 years. But there are many fun ones...depends on what she likes and wants. Waterproof is also a good thing to look at because those can be a lot of fun. Good luck and happy toy shopping.

A bullet is a great place to start because it works externally as well as internally, and it's not too intimidating. Many of them have intensity settings, so she can start light and work her way up.

If you're looking for a nice vibe, this is my current object of lust:

http://www.goodvibes.com/Item--i-1-2...-08_27_31.html

I also love my glass "bloop wand": http://www.blowfish.com/catalog/toys/glass_dildos.html (scroll down to "Pure Pleasure")

IMHO, stay away from the penis-shaped vibes...they're too stiff and hard to use internally (sounds counterintuitive, I know), and they're not particularly versatile as vibrators. Go with a smaller vibrator, or a silicone dildo with an attached external vibrator. Also, read up on the Blowfish site's FAQ about different materials and keeping them clean.

That thing would be excessive and overwhelming for a starter, and I've heard mixed feelings on it, some love it, some hate it, and the only reason it's so popular is because Sex and the City (season 1, episode 9) featured it.

Having just come from a rabbit thread on another forum, here are some opinions:

Quote:
Frankly, I disagree strongly with the overwhelmingly good feedback that it's gotten and I think part of the reason it's gotten so much feedback is because (as someone mentioned) it was featured on Sex in the City and a lot of people somehow managed to get it as like, their first/only sex toy or something. I don't have time to write up a whole review or anything, but basically:

-There's way too much movement in a lot of weird ways. You'll have to just see to understand.
-It's fucking LOUD. God damn. Did a steel mill factory just drop into my bedroom, or what?
-Although there's way too much movement, it's all in the wrong places and in the weirdest ways -- not enough movement in the RIGHT ways. I have probably managed to get off with this particular toy ONCE in the five years that I've had it. I have a collection of other less-elaborate (and also less-expensive) toys that have done a much better job.

So uh, there you go. :P

All these, plus the rabbithead attachment is sort of... poky. It's a nice idea, but it would need to be more rounded and less stick-like not to be uncomfortable.

Anyway, my first vibe was a rabbit (go go cliche), but I eventually tossed it because its distinguishing feature just seemed poorly executed. Mine also only had two speeds, scary and motion sickness inducing, and the controls were built into the base (so they'd switch around on you all the time). Having a separate control box is probably a step in the right direction.
On the other hand ...

Personally, for starter vibes, I recommend either a bullet or egg. Like ratbastid said, they come with the ability to change the intensity settings.

Wand vibes with variable speeds are also good for beginners because they let the user stimulate their clit fairly effectively while still giving them something substantial to play with should the user desire vaginal stimulation as well. In the case of wand vibes, I really recommend one designed for g-spot stimulation--they usually have fatter, angled heads that sit well on the clit and work well on the g-spot.

My choice of vibe is the Wahl coil. It's a plug-in model so I don't go through a lot of batteries, and it has two speeds. It also comes with a variety of attachments, and Good Vibes has special attachments to order. It was also incredibly cheap--I picked mine up for $10 at a Long's Drugs store.

The fact is--a lot of things can be used for vibrators besides the traditional ones. Your girl will eventually discover what she likes, but the bullet/egg or the g-spot wand are good for opening the door.

Got a local adult store? Going together could be fun, and you might even find something for yourself.

My girlfriend and I decided to get one and it took quite a while to settle on what we wanted. We got a sort of vibrating penis ring with a part that sticks off and lines up with her clit when I'm inside her. When we are having sex it makes my penis vibrate in her, and the part that sticks off vibrates on her clit. She loves it, which makes me love it! The vibrating part can also come off and be used by itself. The only thing is that after a certain point it feels like my penis has vibrated too much and feels weird! Like when you go biking over a really bumpy road for a while and your arms feel like jelly, only in your penis. Thats the only drawback I've noticed.

My SO and I purchased one recently. We went to the store together, talked to the staff (very helpful), got to touch and feel several different models until we finally decided on the one we wanted.

I highly recommend going together, she can get one that she likes and you'll have the excitement of running home to try it.

Get something really simple and non-intimidating. For a first sex toy, she wants a clitoral stimulant, not penetration. Thus, vibrating eggs and whatnot are perfect. After that, she'll get more adventurous and want other things.

I used to work in a sex store a few years ago. Because I had the ultimate discount I have tons of different vibrators. The one that gets me off the most is probably the "Pocket Rocket." It is an external vibrator that you use on the clitoris. Because there are so many nerves there, the orgasm is so much more intense. If you happen to get one in your life time, might I suggest that she uses it on herself while you have sex. Seriously, you will rock her world.
