How to tell it's true love.......
I thought about putting this in Sexuality and a mod may indeed move it there, but it has nothing to do with sex.
I'm 38 years old (soon to be 39), I have been through my share of romances and I believe the relationship I am in now is true love and I have never said that before. So I thought I'd offer the tells that show me it is: 1) Even tho I came home early from work with the flu last night and the lovely and gracious Lucy offered to come pamper me, I told her no because she had plans to go out with her friends. In the past, I would have probably demanded the lady come over, and been a jealous fuck calling her or trying to chase her down. But with this relationship, it's not just trust but I KNOW Lucy would never cheat on me and I have no fears of her having fun with other people. 2) Waiting for sex, we've dated a month now and while there were times when we both made each other flustered and horny, we have waited because she wanted me to get STD tested. There were times when it was hard and yes, we have shared a bed.... solely to sleep in and perhaps snuggle but that was it. In the past, I would have pushed for the sex and when we got hot and heavy I would have kept going and not stopped. 3) Making the most out of the time we do share together, saying "I love you", making sure the other is as comfortable as you, sharing your best and even worst moments together and knowing you don't have to put on an act. 4) Finally, you know it's true love when you realize you don't want to live a life without the other person, BUT you also want the other person to have their own identity and grow. So there you have it. 4 things I have learned about myself, how I feel about the very lovely, gracious, and vibrant Ms. Lucille. I hope it may help others to look for the same things in their relationships.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?" |
