Warm fuzzies..............
 

The past week or so there have been some great dialogue and some interesting discussions. I honestly have learnt from differing sides, came to respect and value some opponents arguments and conduct.

I only hope I have added some interesting thoughts to a few of you.

I just want to say that we always hear how bad things are in this forum, but in the past week or so...... I think this board has shown very well what it is capable of..... good discussions without personal conflicts and expression and respect of differing ideas.

I have warm fuzzies all over because of this.

Honestly,

I am more likely to listen to opposing view points when they are posted rationally and without rancor or sarcasm.

It is something I try to remember when posting my own "hot-button" issues.

First Chicken and now Elp are throwing niceties my way.... wow, don't know what to say except thanks, we all have been contributing in a gentlemanly way and even USTwo and I are getting along somewhat...... scary.

But really, I think we're all getting used to each other's side and are showing respect and staying away from hitting hot buttons.

I've said it before and I sincerely mean it, we have great, intelligent people in here and while we may not agree....... we have seemed to find necessary respect for one another.....

I mostly just read the politics board and must say I've noticed the increase in civility here. I thought it couldn't happen on the internet because poeple feel so passionately about there political views and combine that with being on an anonomys message board and you can have some nasty conversations, but you guys proved me wrong. Keep up the good posts and the civil discourse, perhaps I'll feel more compelled to post more.

It just now occurred to me that I might be the only woman posting regularly to politics. I am passionate about politics, to a fault. I promise you all that I am doing my best not to resort to "bitchiness" as I have done in the past. :)

Never knew you were a woman..... that is such a turn on, an intelligent woman passionate about politics..... you are what i dream of in a woman.... are ya single? :p
