i've had my set tuned to fox off and on all night... they've made no such call for an overall winner so far.

its only going to get uglier...i heard a mention of hitting the arctic refuge right off the bat.....i really don;t get it and probably never will....the world will not be the same.
The town in Georgia's got a law on the books Says if we all got guns then we won't have crooks Now what could make them think that way? What could make them act that way? They're just right wing pigeons from outer space Sent here to destroy the human race They don't give a damn about you or me They just buy guns and watch TV Let's go! The lady in Detroit owns a can of mace Got pissed at my brother so she sprayed it in his face Now what could make her think that way? What could make her act that way? She's just a right wing pigeon from outer space Sent here to destroy the human race She don't give a damn about you or me She just buys guns and watches TV The man in the White House who just don't care He starves little kids and he dyes his hair Now what could make him think that way? What could make him act that way? He's just a right wing pigeon from outer space Sent here to destroy the human race He don't give a damn about you or me He just buys guns and watches TV Go! dm i'm out. mrb

Honestly, I think Kerry is in bad shape. I was completely convinced he was going to win...no, HAD to win coming into this, and I was very comforted by the earlier news. When Florida went Bush....well, that was not such good news.
As someone who is FIERCELY supporting Kerry in this election, and feel I have a whole LOT of my future at stake on this particular one (my first, as a member of the "where the fuck did they all go?" 20 year old block)...I am, or was, considering careers in both science and maybe the air force. Science isn't exactly Bush's best friend, but since I'm interested in space program stuff it isn't the end of the world. The air force is another story. I have a big moral problem joining when I feel like I'd be agreeing to answer to an irresponsible commander in chief who would throw american power around on a whim without enough concern for life, both our own and others. Nor do I share his world view that we're the only people on the planet that matter, which seems to be the basis for a lot of foreign policy. Now, it's not over yet, but I'm going to sleep, and I'm not sure I expect to see John Kerry on the front of tomorrow's paper, grinning and holding aloft a newspaper that says "Bush Defeats Kerry in Ohio" and laughing about the premature call. That said, I pray to God he does somehow win. Probably because that's the only one who's going to be able ot pull it off. How will I feel if he loses? REALLY mad. At least my state (and heavily campaigning family) did their part...Hooray for NJ. |

Well, I would vote Angry and Happy together. Angry because the Idiot in the office and happy because there's now a small change that your country might be banckrupt after the next 4 years.

pissed.. anyone that slips the Patriot Act in there and has the gaul to call it said name doesn't deserve to be the leader of this country. That single one is enough to piss me off.

I would be ectatic, Bush needs to be in office and finish what he has started. I think we will be in better hands with him.
I would have been sick to my stomach if Kerry won. *keeps fingers crossed*

Do you have any idea what I am talking about? I will spell it out: 1) In a "Kerry" thread, you tell someone that their comments are unwelcome, that there is a "Bush" thread somewhere else and they should post their comments there. 2) In a "Bush" thread, you pull the same stunt as the person you criticized. 3) I am pointing out the blatent and outright hypocrisy. I don't think you should be told that your comments are unwelcome and to go somewhere else. On the other hand, don't go around telling people their comments are unwelcome and act the same way as the person you are criticizing. |

It seems pretty likely that Bush will take it and I feel sick. Four years from now we'll all be ruing this day when the fate of the world was sealed. His 8 years in power will stand as an example of everything that is wrong with the US political and social structure.

The comment was like "His followers blindly believe what they are told." Sounds like Bush to me! If anything, it's making a very interesting point that's not flattering to one side or the others. 1. I never said anyone's comments were unwelcome. 2. Sorry, there's no hypocrisy going on. I didn't pull any "stunt". The thread was about how you would feel if Bush was elected, I made another post saying that I think this country gets what it deserves if this is what people choose. It's on topic. *I'm* not the one who made a post "His followers blindly believe everything he tells them." For the love of god, pay attention... 3. I never said anyone's comments were unwelcome. Responses like yours aren't uncommon, and they are very annoying. You take something that someone says and you morph it into something it's not. Get off the soapbox already.

I'm not a fan of Bush and feel that his unbalanced position especially regarding foreign policy in the middle east has set America back 20 years. However, if he can accomplish peaceful democracy in Iraq, institute a sovereign Palestinian state and have tactful, diplomatic and respectful working dialogues in that area with all countries, he can redeem himself for the previous 4 years. If he continues down the same road, he will set America back 50 years at a staggering cost to the economy as well as a negative world opinion never seen before.

I voted against Bush, not for Kerry, even though there was a check next to his name. But part of me does revel in the snivling of hippies, it's just a natural reaction to the disgust I have for them.
I don't want more death, destruction, jobs lost, etc... and I let my voice be heard on that matter, but I don't want a hippy agenda any more than I want Bush in office. A part of me would be evily grinning no matter who won, whether it was directed towards christian fundies or hippy crackpots. I just hope everyone who said they would leave are packing their bags. I won't hold my breath though. |
