I can't get over how frightening this is. How people are this ignorant is beyond me. We, as voting citizens, are responsible for the choosing the leader of the larges economy in the world. We are respondible to the rest of the world, as our economy directly effects others. We are responsible to those who we might invade if we make the wrong choice. As this great responsibility is guarenteed to us as a fundamental right of the citizens of this country, a great deal of us simply don't care. Apathy is worse than evil.

BTW, I miss Opie.

willravel,

did you know that Renquist wrote that we do not have a fundamental right to voting in this country in Bush v. Gore?

Oh, I know. Rehnquist is one of the few left trying to keep the right to vote out of the constitution. As of right now, the right to vote is a state right. This is part of the reason (imo) why we keep having trouble with a few states during elections. Certian states have great voting procedures that work quite well. Then there are places like Florida and Ohio where they run into trouble. As much as I am against federalization in most cases, this right needs to be regulated nationwide. We need to avoid all these problems that keep surfacing with voter fraud and the Help America Vote Act doesn't seem to be solving.
