I think God or something attributal to a spiritual voice can be heard from within, just like I believe that everyone truly has psychic powers. I also believe, we can train ourselves to listen to these voices. However, I believe some religious leaders and zealots are just nuts and when they say God talks to them I think people nee to reassess and put these people behind padded walls. They sure as hell don't deserve a following with political clout.

Examples:

You walk down a street, see a fire, a voice tells, "you go into the building and save the 3 kids in apartment 408." You do, you come out, and when people ask, you say, "I heard a voice and knew what I had to do." That is Divine intervention.

Oral Roberts saying God told him to collect $3 million from his followers for some temple, or He'll (God) call me home. Nutjob. Does anyone truly believe with all the pain and suffering in the world God is going to care if this man builds a temple for $3 million and not help those that truly need and believe?

Just my take. Of course when I have heard inner voices they were usually a night I had been drinking and they would tell me to strip my clothes off and run naked through airports.

My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
