Mr. Bush here. I like my healthcare out of Mr. Kerry's hands.

But is it me or this board is mostly in favor of Mr. Kerry

Bush - because he's greatest of two goods. He's not as conservative as my politics are, but a clear worldview and a decisive mind are what we need to win the war. Kerry isn't a bad guy, but Bush has the skill set for this time and place in our history.

Third parties only real function in this system is to split votes. It doesn't matter if you are voting communist, nader, socialist, or libertarian, you are only hurting the dem/rep canidate closest to your beliefs.

As a rule libertarian voters hurt republicans more then democrats, not sure about this year though, a lot of democrats seem to see it as a way to not vote for Kerry while not voting for Bush.

I have already voted for Kerry as he is not Bush. There's no point being "decisive" if you keep making the wrong decisions while ignoring factual evidence because you insist on leading the world by "instinct" alone.

I voted for Kerry, not just because he's not Bush but because I think he would do a competent job. Not great, but competent. There were better, but that's who the party system gave us. I definitely believe that he'll do a better job than Bush, and is coming in with more relevant experience and knowledge than Bush had, and better judgment.

Will Kerry make America the country I hope it'll be someday? No, but at the very least I think he'll strive to be a responsible steward of our nation's well-being within the limits allowed by our basically corrupt political system. I think that Bush is taking us down a road that will lead to an America that is poorer, more divided, more unjust, sicker, and friendless.

I like to joke that a second Bush term will be the best thing ever to happen to socialism in this country. Because the abuses of the current system will be so huge that even 70-year-old retired postmen in Omaha, hiding their heads inside a copy of Christianity Today, won't be able to ignore them. But I don't really believe that.

I will not be voting, because it is a waste of money. To leave work and vote, assuming it takes one hour, would cost me $11.00, plus gasoline, wear and tear on the car, dealing with groups of people, aggravation, etc. I choose to spend my money on things that I need or enjoy. I do not enjoy wasting my effort and registering for jury duty (the potential for several days of lost wages). Instead, I will use that money to purchase some pornography and enjoy my evening.

Even assuming my vote could possibly make a difference in a group of millions of people, it does not matter to me who wins the election.

As you know, I'll be voting for the current President of the United States. My reasons have been listed in discussions here during the past months.

Ultimately, IMO, he is the most genuine and authentic person in the race.

Bravo Irate... I am voting Kerry but I respect and applaud your optimism and kind words about Kerry takes a lot of guts when there are so many (and I have been told I am 1) vapid partisans on the board.

You have had my respect for a long time and this just adds to my belief you maybe one of the best posters on this board.

Isn't it nice that the other candidates all get lumped into "someone else"? It's like a typical conversation I have with anyone about the election.

Are you voting fore Kerry?
Me: no.
(worried look) Bush?
Me: no
Nader?
Me: no
You're going to vote, right?
Me: it may interest you to learn that there are candidates the media doesn't want you to know about.

Kerry: because I don't like Bush. I didn't vote for him last time around, and I aint gonna do it this time.

Four years ago, it was mainly because of his environmental policies, and the fact that he would have the opportunity to appoint Supreme Court Judges that have a greater impact on the laws for a seriously long time. Now... the reasons are apparent.

I voted Nader in '00 and would have voted Perot in '92 if he hadn't done a Howard Dean and shown he was a little nutty. This election I have to vote out Bush and in all honesty, I truly like Kerry. As with any politician I know he may only get 25% of what he says done, but it would still be better than what I have seen and what I believe would come with Bush.

Bush...I may not be thrilled with some of the things he done while in office (hey, no president has ever been perfect) but I really can't bring myself to trust Kerry. There is just something about the guy I can't get past. I have tried. However, in the end, I think it will easier for the guy who is elected in 08 to clean up after Bush then it will be Kerry.
