The 9/11 Commision Report
I dont know how many of you watched this tonight. It was unbelievable to see the breakdown, and failures of the system that was in place on 9/11. It was amazing about the CIA, and the FBI, and Bush's lack of communication with each other. The fact that this threat had been very much real, and the Clinton or Bush administration did nothing. All politics aside, it angers me to watch that, to know this is what this investigation team found happened on 9/11. One thing that really pissed me off, was watching the group of investigators question, and dispute Guliani and the New York Fire Department. About things such as the chain of command, how the situation was handled. Like this is somthing we should have been prepared for, that this was somthing they should have trained for. I thought those allagations were absolutley ludicrious. At least, thats how I heard and saw what they were saying.
All in all, this show was pretty amazing to watch. To this day am still in shock at how it happened, or that it happened at all. I'm even more in shock the Clinton and Bush administration knew it, and did nothing. I just wanted to lay some comments out there. I'm not a big political person, and I don't completely understand the politics behind the commision report, the Bush and Clinton administration doing what they did, but I don't think the average working class, non-political type of person that I am, needs to. It's blatently obvious what went on, and it's downright appauling. Tear me apart, rip me to shreds - be gentle - I consider myself an educated person in most rights, but politics is one thing I'm not educated enough to speak my opinions about, but I am educated enough to understand them. I was hoping there would be a thread about this when I got up this morning...I watched it last nite.
It was interesting to hear the timeline of the planning....them finding out it started back in 1996 (during Clintons administration) and that it had been a much "bigger" plan and that bin laden had actually told the person with the original idea that they would have to scale it back. Seeing the airport videos of them letting those two hijackers thru security after the one guy set the alarms off TWICE...geez I would NOT want to be the security personnel that let them thru. I would like to watch it again because other things were going on and I couldnt pay it 100% attention so I know I missed some stuff..but from what I did see I thought it was a goodshow.

After watching it, I want to get the book. Seems a total break down from top to bottom. Sort of a if it could go wrong it did. The odds that the group of 19 had to over come to make it happer are astronomical, but yet everything fell into place.
I'm glad I watched it, very informative. Now let's put everything in place so this doesn't happen again. |

Michael Ruppert just revealed that his new book will detail the Air Defense excercises which took place 9-11 which supposedly confused and preoccupied our air defenses.
The show...I didnt like it. For instance by the time they got to the first crash they HALTED and got into Al Queda. I found that UNBALANCED. They used they shock and awe of the initial success to further place the blame on Bin Laden, his cave headquarters and his henchmen. That was BIASED reporting. They didnt answer much or/if any of the questions laid out by the "TruthOut" people or any of the other independent investigations. |

yeah I watched it too. One thing that I am not impressed with was they seemed to say that our government knew this was going to happen. They knew something, that OBL wanted to do something, but they did not know the details. The guy that kept saying the biggest problem was our lack of imagination was right on. But trying to blame one administration or another is ridiculous. Nobody took OBL seriously and we paid for it.
