D&D book reader on ferry hassled by security morons

Follow the link for the whole story. Censorship at its worst

Or its most hilarious. Sounds like a joke, if not it's just sad that we have people like that protecting our security.

The link was dead for me...

Actually sounds plausible now that I read the link. Can't decide if this is something to laugh or cry about.

After reading the link, it was seriously short of verifiable facts and sounded more like someone's need for attention on the web.

Was the DNC an absurb spectacle also?

Security preparations are for the morons who plan to DISRUPT the convention.
I remember them closing down all train traffic under the fleet center for the DNC, how inconvienced the people of Boston must have been.

I understand that security has been upped for the RNC. That makes sense. You have lots of people coming together. It?s a big target for any one trying to make a statement.

This guy, however was confronted by security, not because he was endangering anyone, but because of the content of one of his books was deemed offensive to a 'Guard'.

I can see it all now:

Surly security type #1: 'Can I see your bag?'

D&D dude: 'Sigh, yes'

Surly security type #2, brandishing D&D book: 'Aha! What's this then eh?'

D&D dude: 'A book.'

#1: 'Hmm book you say? Sounds dangerous.'

#2: 'I've heard about these books.'

D&D: 'Can I please have that back.'

#1: 'Sorry buddy, but we're confiscating all the books today, then we take em out back and have a big bonfire with our work buddies.'

#2: 'What are you going to do about it foureyes?'

#1: 'Haha, good one, he has got four eyes!'

D&D: 'Ok, I'm going'

#1 and 2 chant and hoot as he does so calling him a nerd...

I wouldnt be suprised if this actually happened. I am offended now a days by what people get offended by.

On a lighter side, maybe the guard was worried that the book could give someone a fatal paper cut.

I'll have to bring my "Ultramodern Firearms" manual just to see what they do. Oooh! I could bring my 1911 blueprintS!

Seriously folks, this is a wonderful example of power being executed by a fucking retard. This is going to stop a terrorist about as effectively as a rolled-up newspaper.
