US soldier that bombed his own troops

Does anyone know what happen to the soldier that tossed a grenade into a command tent at the beginning of the Iraq invasion?

There was a lot of coverage at the time but I don't recall the outcome.

Does anyone but me remember this?

The guy in the 101st?

Haven't heard a damn thing. Probably locked away in a prison somewhere.

Or dead.

One day an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each bought a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!"

As far as I recall, US officials later said he wasn't supporting Al-Qaida. Doesn't mean he wasn't a total dick.

His motives were supposedly due to the racism he experienced and that he was driven to do it by everyone else (nothing new in that defense). Although he was allegedly heard by many to have said something along the lines of "you come into our countries rape our women kill our men, etc, etc, etc" when he was arrested.

I seem to recall hearing that he was convicted but it was just a blurb a few months back. I could be wrong about this though since I can't find any online articles to back it up.

I couldn't find any articles either... I just found that a bit odd.

It doesn't say whether or not he is eligible for the death penalty. Sounds like he is trying to make a case of temporary insanity. Unless there was systematic abuse of him as a muslim, then I would support the death penalty in this case.
