Mojo when did Canada pull troops out of Afghanistan on this ROTO. the RCR have been there from the start. maybe your confusing this with PPCLI that was in Kandahar after the Taliban fell. if america is doing things right in Iraq i'd hate to see it when it's screwed up. Canada is looking at the stryker as a replacement for the tanks so we are looking at a replacement.
Lebell all that died were not american so your number of three thousand americans is wrong. i never "pissed" on any graves sorry if my opinion pisses people off but it is mine.

Man... this thread went from asking two questions:
1) Why does Canada hate Bush.. and 2) Why/should Americans care? It ended up turning into: "You're stupid!" "No you're stupid stupid!" ... /sigh

nobody said anyone was stupid, the thread went in a different direction maybe you could have done something to get it back on track but instead you wanted to do whatever it was you did with your post.
Canadians haye bush because of the way he tries to police the world and let's not forget the softwood tariffs, and steel taxes he started, Do americans care? do Canadians care what americans think? no to both answers.

Seaver... I completely agree.
1) Canada (statistically speaking) does not want to see Bush re-elected (it's not a matter of hate). As a country whose centre is much further "left" of the US centre it shouldn't be all that much of a surprise that we don't agree with his policies or wish to see him re-elected. 2) American's don't need to care. What Canadian's think is of little consequence to the average American let alone the its administration. That said, it sure as hell is important to Canadians...

I get a laugh out of Mojo...
The one thing i notice he always does is take a criticism of BUSH, not the american people and turn it into an anti Canadian rant. I stated the reasons I hate Bush, etc. and so have the other posters and he responds by leveling his 16" guns at the entire country and populace of Canada. Wow, that's what I call a scorched earth policy. Yo, mojo, I hate Bush, (and well his ilk) but i like Americans. I find them kind of interesting. Very generous people in my experiences actually. But i still hate Bush. I don't think that makes me antiamerican cause I liked Clinton. I subscribe to the ABB party infact. Anybody but Bush. |

My experiences with americans have not been as pleasant as james, i found them to be arrogant and rude.(not saying all americans just the ones i have met) I love Slick Willy he was great. I never thought about the ABB party that was funny, but i to am a member of that party.

I realized that it was your opinion and I stated that. I was just merely taking a stance against said opinion. And i didn't turn it into anything anti-canadian, all I said was your military sucks.

JTK don't sweat it, I can't stand Bush and I am an American, and I can guarantee you I am not anti-american. I think the Canadians are right on target and I hope Americans come around and realize the long term damage President Bush and his administration are doing to the United States and the world. I do have to admit, that I find it odd(and a little humbling) that people all over the world have such strong opinions on who should be our president. I think we in the U.S. get a little self absorbed and forget that the actions of our nation can have such a large effect on other nations. Also, all I can think of when I hear something like "Your military sucks" is "My dad can beat up your dad!" |

There's a couple things about the Canadian military.
1. The have not received proper support from the government. But don't underestimate their professionalism and skill. Just because they don't have all the toys in the world doesn't mean that they are not good at what they do. I wouldn't want to meet a military boy, especially a JTF2 in a bar mojo and insult his unit, his country or the queen. 2. The Canadian government is not doing anything every other government in the WORLD is doing (other than one notable exception) and that is reducing military spending. Even the British have reduced military spending. Last edited by james t kirk; 02-06-2004 at 09:24 PM.. |
