Bin Laden was 'cute and sweet'

Osama bin Laden was a "cute and sweet" teenager, according to a Swedish hotelier.

Kristina Akerlund says bin Laden and his brother were "the most delightful boys".

The prime suspect in the terrorist attacks on America used to spend holidays in Sweden with his family.

A photo in Sweden's Aftonbladet newspaper shows the youthful Saudi dissident smiling with his sisters and elder brother. They are seen posing next to a car in Falun in 1971.

The paper says the 16-year-old's limousine was given parking fines on a daily basis for falling foul of parking regulations. The fines were paid.

Ms Akerlund owned a hotel in the Dalarna province, where the young bin Laden spent several summers.

"He and his brother were just the most delightful boys. I recognised his photo in the newspapers immediately. The only bizarre thing was that they ate all their meals in their room, and didn't often emerge," she told the paper.

Bin Laden is second from right in the photo on the newspaper's website

Ms Åkerlund is clearly aiding the terrorists and should be sent to Guantanmo asap!

Nothing like a "cute and sweet" mass murderer. I guess since he was a cute and sweet kid, that should excuse the fact that he was an ugly, heartless, murdering mugwamp as an adult.

Nobody has said that he's excused for being a murderer? Where did that come from?

Dragonlich 04-28-2003 04:29 AM

Perhaps his parents' refusal to obey parking regulations was the driving force for him becoming a mass-murderer.

Did *your* parents get a lot of parking tickets? Well, DID THEY, you terrorist prick!!! :)

(Seriously, this may show a more widespread disregard for laws, which must have influenced young Osama...)

it's amazing how evil a person can turn. He was probably a relatively normal kid - with anger supressed of course.

There's no such thing as an evil person. Only normal people that do evil things.

well said my man

Nad Adam 04-28-2003 10:31 AM

I'm an evil person who does normal things.

A truly evil man is evil because he/she knows that what they are doing is indeed evil, and care not.

Osama is wrong, bad, and stupid, but not fully evil - because in his mind, he really does think he is doing the right thing.

A truly evil person would be someone who is not insane, and wants to hurt or do wrong, just because they want to. (Not because they get pleasure - that would make them insane.) These people are truly rare.

Similar to the definition of a truly kind person. Most people do nice things because it makes us feel good, that is the primary reason - the pleasure we feel from knowing we've done good. It is very rare when someone does something good that they really didn't want to do, didn't enjoy the act, or get any pleasure from it - but did it soley because it was a good act. But that would be a truly kind person.

I dont know what I'm talking about btw.
