Tilted Whining

I have been coming to this board for a long time and it seems lately all I read is Bush this, Republicans that.
Conservitives are afraid of the boogieman, someone is coming into your house and taking your gun and killing you and all my anti-gun friends with it.

I propose that a tilted liberal section is created so as when others come here they do not have listen to the obvious bitterness that the liberals hold here.

For the Dems that post here it is going to be a long 5 years before the liberals send another loser up for slaughter in '08.

But hell, at least you will have something to bitch and moan about.

And you should have your very own place to do it, misery loves company you know.

Personally, I see the democrats and liberals on this board as being the ones who actually respect the rules for the most part and act like adults. The conservatives, just in the last few weeks, have suggested setting nuns on fire, running over protesters, suggested that the church is pandering to "joe faggot", and generally I see the ones with conservative positions on this board to be the ones who don't want to engage in discussion.

I can point to three threads that the conservatives actually just abandoned without reply when I brought up some facts and challenged their position.

This post is yet another example of how the conservatives don't want to discuss things. You're asking for the people who don't agree with you to be moved to a different board. I know you're joking, but it's symbolic of the conservative position.

Even more distressing is how many people lack a grasp of basic facts and history. For example, Al Gore was hardly a "loser put up for slaughter". He won the popular vote and nearly won the electoral vote. The polls I have seen lately make it look like Bush with have a tight race from the lead democratic challenger.

What bothers me about this board is the lack of honest discussion. Nobody wants to learn anything from anyone, and most people are very disrespectful to any opinion that differs from their own.

Control of the Executive branch?

Control of the Senate?

Majority in the House?

SCOTUS decisions?

John 'Crisco' Ashcroft?

hmmmmmmm...... yeah the neo-cons really have it rough. Maybe we can do a telethon to improve their self image.

heh heh. You know what I'd like to participate in? A <a href="http://www.calpress.com/pdf_files/what&why.pdf">"critical thinking"</a> board where we could take current topics and discuss them rationally from both sides. I recently got into a rational discussion with a vegan (I'm an atkins dieter) and I think we both walked away having learned something.

Unfortunately, I think it would require a lot of moderation and a firm but fair hand, so I'm not sure if any of us are up to the task.

I have to agree with a little of both "sides" on this. The incessant whining (I've participated in it at well) needs to stop. I think that we need to agree that neither Republicans or Democrats (as parties) are truly interested in helping the populace, and both are just interested in getting themselves elected again and even more filthy rich.

In agreeing to such a thing, perhaps we can (instead of whining, bitching, moaning, complaining) suggest solutions for said problem and discuss its implementation or faults -- not the faults of admittedly selfish politicians.

Anyone agree?

Why do conservatives, Republicans, and Rush Limbaugh lovers all think anyone who doesn't agree with their political beliefs is a stupid, whining loser??

Guys like Rush Limbaugh whined their ass off when Clinton was President, critizing his every action or decision. Now its our turn to analyze and critisize the bumbling, cowboy from Texas. And if you don't think W is worried about his re-election efforts, think again cause he is headng straight for a repeat of Bush Sr.'s fate.

If Gore or Hilary runs, he's in deep shit.

Hey, it's politics. It's not pretty. I find it kind of interesting that one of the most in-your-face political posters on this board starts a thread about how other types of posts, from people feel differently, bother him, and he doesn't want to see them.

All I can say is, if you don't want to see what some people write, there's a technological solution. Use it. Don't go asking for special privileges or entitlements.

Take it one step at a time, start a big thread where everyone can take specific choice quotes of other posters "whining". That would be much more fun. Then there'll be some juicy mockery on both sides (within the realm of civility).

Posters on TP are too contrary to just nod their heads and blankly accept a bland generalization about how all conservatives do this or all liberals do that.

For the record I'm a left liberal <a href="http://www.republic.org.au/">Republican</a> so what do I care about US party affiliations?

To conservatives, complaints about conservatives = whining
To conservatives, complaints about liberals = outrage

Emphasis on the rage.

I used to be Republican, now I'm Independent. (right down the fuckin' middle)
I began deplore the aggressive rhetoric & tactics used by the Republican Party.

I suggest using the system as it is.
And argue your points & values without exaggerated language.

Every time a person is in office you don't like, you suggest some type of ouster.
If your points & candidate are better, then you have nothing to worry about in the NEXT election.

Rather than just blowing hard,
Debate the points with facts.

Just the topic & tone started within this thread, proves my point.

I mostly don't post, but just watch in the background here in politics.
And the arguments posted by many are just towing the line,
All they do is spout off rhetoric, fire & brimstone.
On BOTH sides.

If you value your points, you debate them.
You don't ask to send off your antagonists to another section.
That sounds very much like isolationism & segregation.

But then again since I disagree with you,
you probably think I'm just "whining, bitchin' & moaning"

While we're at it, can we start a Tilted Conservatives(I won't go as low as calling them something other then conservative) board where we can read everyone's thoughts that liberals should be kicked out of the country, or how Bill O'Riely is like a god because he doesn't put up with liberal shit? Conservatives don't stop to amaze me, but neither do liberals.

And liberals think that anyone who disagrees with them is stupid, wants to destroy the planet, and has no conscience.

Both sides have people that are full of crap. Neither side is correct when it tries to paint every member of the opposing party with the same brush.

Sound bites are king and hypocrisy is rampant.

Amen to that. I will forever refuse to vote party lines when both sides seem to hate eachother so much. I fall into the middle of the political ether, and both sides seem to hate me for that too. Hate is a self-destroying cancer and I read a lot of posts here that seem to prove that. The pendulum just keeps swinging back and forth harder and harder until both houses have fallen to their own tit for tat spite for one another. Fortunately the true power lies in the hands of the swing voters. We are the ones that have to be earned. And when they are earned they can change the tide of an election quite swiftly. Sadly they are rarely earned because both parties seem to usually have a "with us or agianst us" idea. The game of politics is freakin' hilarious as long as you don't take it too seriously. Which is hard to do because there are such emotions involved in the issues. I like to check in to TFP Politics for even funnier material than TFP Humor.
