Saddam's sons killed... again?!?
All the news channels are reporting that Uday and Kuse were killed today in a firefight in Northern Baghdad.
Do you believe it? Are you happy about it? My reaction: I'd like to see a little proof this time around. I'm not too sure if "happy" is the right term... the first thing that came to mind was "finally!"...

July 22nd, 2003 Tuesday * SADDAM’S SONS POSITIVELY ID’D; DEAD IN RAID: At a U.S. military news conference in Baghdad, Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez stated,”We’re certain that Uday and Qusay were killed…We used multiple sources to identify the individuals.” This confirms early reports that the sons had been suspect to have been in the fierce gun battle earlier today. Sanchez said the U.S. military had been given a ''walk-in'' tip late last night that came in and gave the information that Qusay and Uday were in the villa in Mosul later was raided by U.S. forces. The six-hour operation proved to be a credible result, thus the reward of $15 million is expected to be paid for information leading to the death or capture of each of Saddam’s sons. Four coalition soldiers were wounded and are being treated. They are still working to discover who the other two killed men are.

Waiting for more proof,
but if true I won't shed any tears for these sadistic butchers.

I am sure we wills see some pictures of the bodies sooner or later. Also, they are checking their DNA.
I think getting both of the brothers is almost as good as getting Saddam. He is probably feeling a little....nervous and upset. Hopefully.

Note on how they confirmed it so fast, Uday had survived an assasination attempt years before, and he had a busted up leg held together with titanium. That of course would be easy to locate, and would explain a lot.

There was only one AP reporter there at the time, so initial reports probably would be wrong. Really, the chances that a different person with titanium in their leg in a house where someone said Uday was in hiding out with his brother is very slim. They're dead Jim.

Give the guy two giant sacks of money with big dollar signs on them and put him on TV. At least people will be looking then. Hey, we should get them looking for WMD's while we're at it.

the entire reward thing somehow suddenly feels like a reality show somehow ;P
it wouldve been better if the U.S. caught at least one of them alive so they can interrogate him for the needed info as for saddam and osama... eh they may be long dead and we'll search if anything just so we have a reason to do what we must if anything whether we know they're dead or not |

Downside with showing the guy who reported them... he's supposedly Saddam's nephew, and owner of the house they were in. Now, if he's shown on national TV, he might be dead pretty damn quickly. I'd say that Saddam will want revenge, and this guy would be one of the first names on the list.
Apart from that, I'm happy that they're dead, but would have prefered them being alive. I would have wanted them to suffer before dying. Now I can only hope they did. |
