The WTO and the Developing World
Here is a short article about the most recent attempts by the developing nations to use the WTO to get the EU to open up its markets:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/eu/story/0...843067,00.html The point is that it is not the WTO that is bad for developing countries, but certain elements in the EU who dont want to play fair. |
isnt that the purpose of the EU?? self-advancement of it's member states??
i dont blame 'em for that. one of the purposes of the EU is to compete head to head against the US agragately. the euro is competing against the dollar. |

look @ it like this. there's a bully in the school and in order to stand up to the bully, all the lil kids have to bunch up together. |
The CAP doesnt actually help the EU or its members beyond a select few. This is why the UK wants it reformed. The CAP will "collapse under its own weight" if its not reformed anyways.
Also its hypocritical to claim to favor free trade and follow such policies. |

and no, i dont think they wanna be the next bully. if they did, they wouldnt be takin in new members like they are now. |
Um the article was about trade, not bullies.
