There i did it. I have never been to law school.

You would think she would at the very least have been able to mention Exxon vs. Baker decision (lowering punitive damages from the Exxon-Valdez massive oil spill) ......not a case that most of us would recognize, but one that the Supreme Court ruled on just months ago and which directly affected her state while she was governor.

How about Exxon Shipping Company v. Baker? She spoke out against the ruling only months prior to the interview. Considering she was asked to name cases she disagreed with, here's one she publicly spoke out that she disagreed with and it happened in the state in which she's the governor.

I think without cue cards and memorized talking points she's completely lost. Like a deer in the headlights.

Of course I could do it now -- though how many of those do you disagree with, guvy -- but when you're put on the spot in the middle of an interview? I like to think I could come up with, say, Kelo, but I'm not sure I could. I'd probably end up saying something like "That one decision with the wheat".

I forgot about the disagree bit, but it's still easy. Did Palin not take history? You almost have to say Plessy vs. Ferguson, especially in a campaign against Obama. Scott vs. Sanford is known as the Dred Scott Decision; i'd take that. A right winger would probably say the similarly named Miranda decision was wrong. That would be good enough for me.

Buckley vs. Vallejo & Bush vs. Gore would be very easy in the midst of an election. I guess those would be harder for her, though she could have scored maverick points by saying Buckley vs. Vallejo. But she's a fraud.
