I wasn't the least bit sad when I heard about this. Maybe now S. Carolina will have someone whos of a competent mind to help run their state. That might help. Just a thought.
But I will keep what I really think about him personally to myself because I try to respect the dead. Except for Hitler...............fuck Hitler.

"Anybody can stand up for whats right, but it takes a rare man to stand up for whats wrong. We salute you Strom."
Strom had beliefs and he stuck to them. I respect him for that. That and the fact that he has helped the people in his state more than any senetor I can think of. There have been many stories of people, white and black, who wrote to him for help in one area or another and got responses and results directly from the man himself. While his views may be wrong, he was still a good man and I respect him for it. |

after reading this I lost respect for some of the people who i viewed as just people who have different opinion then me. I can't believe how little respect they have for the dead.

I hope your not refering to the Hitler comments. He is beyond respect, even if he is dead.
As for Strom, I honestly think people here bought the whole "ain't enough people in the union army to force segregation" crap that the media put out and failed to realize that people may change opinions and still see him as the klan supported that he used to be. If he had kept fighting for segregation of public places throughout his career, I'd probably insult him too. |
