Where is the Outrage???
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061212/D8LVI5B80.html
Muslims are outraged and protest and riot when a cartoon depicting their prophet is drawn. Yet dozens of people are massacred and there is not a single peep. Where are the protests, where is the outrage? |
I imagine that it's hard to be outraged by daily occurrences, even if they are blatantly evil. Did you protest and riot after Tianamen Square? How about after the massacre of the Salvadoran priests in 1989? They were Christians (obviously); why didn't Americans and Europeans spill into the streets? More recently, why didn't the massacre of 18 members of a family in Mexico in a drug deal gone wrong make national headlines in the US?
Just like it is in the US, for the Egyptians and Jordanians, this is happening at arm's length in another country. It's also not entirely clear who did this or why. This attack was on Iraqis in particular and not on Islam in general, which is how the cartoons were perceived. Try again. |
I want to know why our president isn't outraged and why the american people aren't outraged.

Smicer... you have been around enough to know that:
a) you need to quote the source, not just the link and b) you need to have a discussion topic. When you can PM me (or another mod) a discussion topic the thread will be re-opened. Cheers |
