Monkie's Xmas tree forest!
So some of you have heard about my mom's fetish for christmas trees... and you cried disbelief. So to quelch that, I took it upon myself to gather concrete photographic evidence of this forest that lives in our house from Day after Halloween to the week before Valentines Day. Trees are numbered in order of appearance as you progress deeper and deeper into the forest
There are quite a few smaller ones spread out around the house.. but these are the most noteworthy ones.

I especially like the extension cord in the last one. :P
That's gotta be one pine-smelling house, alright!

Has your mom ever sought help for this affliction?
That's a lot of trees... how do you know which one has your presents under it?

there "used" to be a Family tree - one that had all the ornaments we kids had made going through grade school - that was the tree we were allowed to help decorate, and presents went other there. The rest are Hands OFF. During the year, the trees get stored in the closet under the stairs and in the storage room that is technically my closet... but my closet gets kinda squished

#13 is a tree my dad picked out and bought my mom ... all techy like:
The branches have fiber optic cables, and the base has an MP3 player. The optics are too fragile to hang ornaments or anything, but when you load music into the player, the lights change in time with the music. I could take another set of pictures at night with the main lights off and the christmas lights on, or of a specific tree if there is a request. However, at least you can now see there are a LOT of trees!!! Each one is decorated with a different theme.

As a "colour impaired" person, I am personally offended that i can't make out any more than 1 or 2 of the numbers. Not to mention the fact that I didn't even see them my first glance through.
But anyway, I congradulate your mom on her tree issues. |

You weren't kidding monkie. Your mom is christmas tree crazy.
I was going to say "You must get a lot of presents with all those tree!" But I read your previous post, so I guess you don't. Bummer. I'll just adopt tree #10 and not put one up this year.

I was thinking about your house after watching The Two Towers on TV last night... reminds me of the Hurons... "Don't stray from the path..."

Mosha ... women are never rational.. haven't you learned that by now??
Honestly, she is just really into Christmas - xmas music is on 24/7 after Thanksgiving, she does Open houses (like tonight ), bakes cookies, writes the annual christmas letter, etc. Plus I think there is also the factor of getting attention because of the trees - people talk about them all year long, and keep donating trees to "help the collection". I bet when I come home to visit after moving out my old room will have become the official Xmas tree storage room.

Amonkie... I am sure you can count on losing your room the trees... I was just by my Mother-in-laws... I had forgotten her obsession with Santas and Nutcrackers... there are many of them cluttering the entrance to her house... being smaller, they don't take up as much space as the trees but they are still quite a presence... I will try to take pictures.

its no wonder i have no christmas spirit - your momma clearly has mine...
I'm somewhere between disturbed and amused by all those trees... and it's adorable that your dad feeds your mom's habit... though doesn't that makehim an enabler? I'm more impressed actually that your house has storage for all those trees...

Wow, yeah, that's a lot of trees.
I hope you guys don't have any cats, cause my one and only tiny one manages to bring our tree down at least once every year.

Nope, no cats... but our two male dogs go nuts trying to figure out why these trees don't smell like other dogs... and if they aren't watched try to claim them for their own.

geebus crappity...that's a lot of freaking trees. Please tell me they're all artificial...otherwise that's a hell of a fire hazard.

Yup... all artifical. Don't have to worry about the fireplace being a fire hazard since the pollution here is so bad we're not allowed to have fires burning
