A View of Autumn From A Kayak

I purchased a small kayak for photo opportunities such as this. For once my timing was perfect: no wind, great lighting, bright colors and no crowd. I hope you enjoy these. This is the real color. These are not Photoshop creations.

Very nice. I loved that third one. What type of camera did you use?

Norske8 10-31-2005 06:08 PM

Canon 20D

I am using a Canon 20D now after my Digital Rebel went out on me. It is a great camera.

Really great shots! I love how one of the deer is sticking its tongue out at you - and I honestly think I have never seen a windless/flat lake - it really helps to draw your eyes to the color both in the trees and in the reflection.

Gotta' love that 20D, huh?

Great colors, as well as very nice photos. Like the composition with the park bench.

Nice photos!! I especially like the second and seventh ones.

Charlatan 11-01-2005 06:31 AM

Great shots... I am loving the colours.

Norske8 11-01-2005 08:07 AM

Thanks guys.

Yes, the 20D is a sweet camera. It gives me tremendous opportunity to grow as a photographer.

Stunning. It makes me wish I was up North right now. The second to last is my favourite. Something about the bright blue sky with the shocking orange leaves. Beautiful!

cellophanedeity 11-01-2005 10:20 AM

I'm stunned! These are wonderful shots. Where are you here?

Supple Cow 11-01-2005 10:47 AM

These are breathtaking. I can only imagine how glorious it was to actually be there!

Shpoop 11-01-2005 01:02 PM

absolutely love number 2. I'm in bermuda right now, which is awesome, but seeing as this is my first time living in a place that has fall, I hope I don't miss peak color

and the deer family... awwwwwww

and you are too adorable in the last picture :)

Central Illinois

I took all of these photos at a small lake in central Illinois. The lake is so small it is not even on most maps. I think our color is early.

Brewmaniac 11-01-2005 06:46 PM

Great shots, the colors are almost electric! Thanks for sharing!

jujueye 11-02-2005 06:17 PM

Wow, almost looks like slide film. Nice shots, and you picked a perfect day as well. Good job! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful pictures. Makes me miss autumn in Wisconsin.

Really nice shots man.

Do the shots that you've 'framed' seem a lot more vivid to you?

Norske8 11-04-2005 08:08 AM

Yes they do

Yes they do. I am just lazy and did not frame all of them. I love taking photos. I just don't like the "post processing" work.

Framed Version

Here is a framed version of one of the first shots:

Stick with the plain black and white frames.
I can't help but think of the motivation posters, and in particular the demotivation posters at http://www.despair.com/

Sorry, but you'll see why: ;)
