Beijing and India
Here are a few shots I did on a 2 week business trip to Beijing and India early in 2004. The pics are ok but I spent most of the trip frustrated with my decision to leave my 35mm SLR at home and take only my digital point-and-shoot. I did not know how much time for sight seeing I would have and I wanted to travel light. I had also heard a lot of horror stories about film getting ruined in International Airports. Wish I had chanced it now.

I think these are great photos for a point and shoot digital. They make me dream of an opportunity that I'll prolly never have. Lucky you for the opportunity you had to see such lovely vistas. Thanks for sharing.

Those turn out beautiful as they are - some things are just meant to be portrayed well, no matter the medium :)

Don't count out the opportunity to go over there either. Believe it or not it was cheap once I got there. I don't know what airfare would have been for Joe Citizen as the company always puts us in Business Class to fly internationally but my boss tells you his wife goes from San Francisco to Beijing all the time (her parents live in Beijing) and it is very reasonable. Once you get there life is a lot cheaper than in the states or Europe. I stayed in a 4 star hotel in Beijing for right a $100 a night that would have been nearly twice that in any major city in the US. We hired a private car and driver for two days in Beijing and it cost us less than my rental car in San Jose. Thanks to the rest of you for the kind comments. They are appreciated. And you are right Amonkie, you just can't take a bad pic of some things. A great subject makes a photographer's job so much easier and these were all great subjects. I keep telling my wife that too... :) |
Double post. Sorry. Browser malfunction.

That last shot reminded my why seeing the Taj Mahal is on my list of things I must do before I die.
|
great shots. did anyone else actually count all 17 arches? or was i alone on that one?
|
Ahh, this reminds me of why I value travel over new furniture.
The shot of the bridge was especially lovely, and it's always wonderful to see the Taj Mahal, yes? |
Awsome! I hope one day I get to see the world.
