These walls belong to an 250 year old sea fortress, Suomenlinna, built to protect Helsinki.

Awesome pictures, it's cool to see pictures of a place I've never seen before. I love the first one from the plane with the boat going through the icey sea.

Yes. I used Silja Line myself.

Also, if there's less than, say, 5 years since your trip, there's a 50% chance that the white boat visible in the "Downtown Helsinki" shot is the one you used. Here's a detail of the photograph. The two Silja Line ships currently sailing between Helsinki and Stockholm are identical.

That first photo reminded me of some I took of the salt flats in Death Valley, California.

Beautiful....I think I shall have to try and visit there sometime, but perhaps not in the winter! :lol:

That second shot is awesome. The weak sunlight reflected in the little bit of water, just great.

The third one i definatly my favourite. Great job.

Those are beautiful shots. Makes me miss winter.
